It takes 3hrs from conception to birth, then another 3hrs until the baby/child becomes an adult.

The 3 hr pregnancy can elapse whilst you are offline.
Then, after you click the baby icon, the 3hrs until the baby/child becomes an adult can elapse whilst you are offline.

Sometimes a Pregnant Women can give Birth before time, it happens sometimes to me when a Questgroup comes back from a Quest with Nuka Speedup. Dono if its a Bug because the Fast Forward or if it is intended.
