Lockpicks

I am a bit worried about the lockpicks mechanism... they drop randomly when you find an item (with a max of 20) but there are only a limited amount of items. I find it hard to open the lockpicks... takes me 10 tries sometimes... what will happen when there are no items left for me to collect but there are still 75+ locks to pick?

you get automatic lock picks every day if you use them

You will get additional lockpicks each day, but you can only store a maximum of 20 at any given time. There are random time based drops, but over a short time scale, roughly around every 20-30 minutes of play, but you can gain up to 5 each day providing you have space to store them (20 max etc.).

So if you use your lockpicks they will be replenished just through being in the game.

i still have trouble with unlocking those lockpicks. i think it's quite difficult (sometimes i'm wasting all 20 on a single lock) and it takes a lot of time to receive them.

Damn! I've only found 3 boxes so far, and have used 2-3 lockpicks. Do they get harder?

And I don't even understand how the drop lockpick system works as well. I played for a while and got nothing then I went on an online server and got 1 maybe 2 randomly, and then once I opened a box I got another one. But haven't been able to get anymore.

same... I have been in-game for many hours but it really does not drop that many.

Yeah I've worked it out. Lockpicks drop a max of 5 per day, I would say 45 mins to an hour per drop roughly. I've never had lockpicks dropping any other way. And drops reset on store reset. Also tap the mouse button when doing the lock pick, you should be able to feel when it's locking up and then adjust the lockpick. I tend to destroy a lockpick once every 2-3 boxes/doors.

yes but if you tap won't it move back if you're not fast enough?

Yeah correct so you tap it, and you can hear the thud sound when it's at it's limit then you move the lockpick again closer to the area where it should be open-able. I'll see if I can make a quick video!
