Sweet hell, the graphics

So after spending a full 30 minutes reading the intro to this game because there's no way to make text go faster (booooo), I finally got to start playing only to find out that the graphics really mess with my eyes/brain. I really find it hard to look at, and I feel like my eyes are going to start watering at any point. Whatever's going on in the background to make the PS2 graphics work on a modern PC seems to have yielded something that my eyes try to parse as stereoscopic 3D, but which never resolves.
I did a brief search and turned up some answers involving the solution to this not working anymore. Anyone know if there's an up-to-date mod that deals with the blur+aura glow thing? Because it's genuinely confusing these graphics got past any kind of QA.

I applied Steamless to okami.exe first then tried this mod.

The option "1" crashes the game for me, not sure for other options but I tried Bloom Toggle (5) which works.

The WSGF trick here works perfectly for me (no blur, greatly reduced halo)
