Luckily, there are other ways to remove the ghosting effect:
- Download this zip archive from WSGF: http://www.wsgf.org/phpBB3/download/file.php?id=2197
- Extract it, go to the "Disable effects" folder
- Apply both Ghosting_in_motion.exe and Ghosting_in_static.exe to the main.dll file that you can find in the Okami folder (Steam\steamapps\common\Okami). You should backup your main.dll file before applying anything to it.
- Open the game, the ghosting effect should be gone
If you don't like the dynamic ink effect, you can also disable that.
You can do this with Helix mod: https://helixmod.blogspot.com/2018/05/okami-hd.html.
You can see a comparison here: https://www.giantbomb.com/okami/3030-20555/forums/okami-hd-xbox-one-issues-with-bluring-during-movem-1817386/ (post number #5)
It took me some time so gather all this information when I started to play Okami a couple of weeks ago, so I hope this will be useful to you too.
Enjoy this amazing game. =)

Might try it without the grain but its nowhere near as obnoxious as that ghosting was.
It has been difficult to find these links, even when I knew the WSGF had the fix. I was about to give up on this game, it just had too many problems to deal with. Your links and helpful post has made this game a lot more tolerable for me.
Edit: Since the game wasn't gross looking anymore I was able to get further in. Now I need a mod to fix how boring this game is.
So I just started playing this game and noticed the immense ghosting and blurryness. I assume that its because some of the effects dont scale well to 4k.
I just wanted to say a big thanks for posting these instructions. After doing this the game looks absolutely gorgeous.

+1 man, I've been playing the game for around 15 hours now, and as much as I love this classic of the PS2 era, the bloom and motion blur were getting annoying, haha. I didn't even think to look up if there was any fix, and I'm glad I did. Thank you so much!
I used it to remove just the blur and it is SO much better now, I was having motion sickness because of that, THANK YOU!
You are a lifesaver, thank you so much for sharing this!
