Unlike most games build for console and ported to PC, Okami was ported carefully to ensure frame time calculations are accurate, so 30 fps doesn't produce a choppy mess as much as other console ports locked at 30 tend to do. Is obviously not ideal, if you know what you're looking for you'll still see that it's not as smooth as if it was running at 60 fps. But there are no frames repeated 3 times or frames skipped because of poor time calculations so it looks as smooth as 30 could ever look.
In other words, you might want to give it a try. Maybe buy it, play a couple of hours and pan the camera around to see how it runs, and If you don't like it then refund it right away. Just a suggestion.
It hurts my eyes at 30.
Many have this issue, if you've played at a higher refersh rate all the time (Like me) it can give you headaches and eyestrain to go lower.
That sucks. You can always try playing on a TV instead of PC monitor. It might help a little bit, though if you're that used to higher framerates even that might not help.
But since not all games support higher refresh rates, I didn't have a choice but to get used to lower frames in some games. And weirdly enough, after playing games at various framerates I no longer have that issue really. Lower framerates still look bad, but I get used to them in a matter of minutes now.
So if you don't want to miss out on games just because of that issue, you might want to try playing games at slightly lower framerates than you're used to, and gradually go lower until you get used to it again.
I tought I was getting used to 30, not 3. :p
