About the Final Rank screen

I've beaten the original Okami many times on my old PS2, but I forget if some things carry over between playthroughs to the final results after you beat the game.

Do Demon Fangs acquired carry over or do you have to farm them all over again for them to count again before going into the final showdown?
Does money earned in a NG+ count as stacked onto the previous playthrough or not?
Do you have to kill another 550+ enemies for the S rank to appear again in a NG+?

I ask mainly because I didn't S rank the Demon Fangs one and now have to murder everything again, but with my String of Beads. I'm going to assume I have to again (unless I'm wrong).

This is my first time playing, but I had the same sort of questions about NG+ myself, so I did a quick Internet search. Apparently Demon Fangs are retained going into NG+. Players keep their yen as well.

I don't know if the rank for Demon Fangs carries over. I would guess you have to kill as many enemies as you need for an S rank, taking into account however many Demon Fangs you bring from a previous playthrough.

Yes, Demon Fangs are retained, but the info about the total amount of them collected seems not to be. I checked that using Cheat Engine. The address that stores that info is resetted in NG+. Probably the same goes for money etc.

Yes, it does. So, in other words, IMO, if you want to get the S rank in NG+, you need to collect all that stuff over again.

If anyone wants to get the highest ranks/100% etc but is unsure if he/she has done everything to qualify for these highest ranks, I would suggest saving just before the point of no return ( right before getting on the Ark of Yamato) and just finishing the game. It won't take long to do it, and you'll know exactly what ranks you're getting. Then you can just reload your save from before and finish whatever it is you need to do to get the higher rank.

So I have to murder everything again. Okay.

And yes, I mainly asked my question due to the fact I saved over the point of no return by accident because I really hate boss rush and fighting Orochi 3 times and wanted to get it out of the way.

At least you've got the String of Beads. Don't worry about your saving error. I completely understand your feelings about Orochi; having to fight serpent breath three times is not my favorite thing about the game..
