Inventory management=💩?
This game has a lot of jank, but me and my gf are trying to power through it because dungeon crawlers like this are few and far between... I really enjoy dungeon crawlers.

Anyway.... The inventory management is killing me.

Every single dead enemy body contains loot, but when it "drops" the player cannot see what color/rarity/importance the loot actually is. This means you have to manually loot every single dead body or else risk missing something and this is a giant pain in the ***. It also fills your inventory up to full incredibly quickly, forcing travels to town or dropping items from inventory entirely.

I've almost put the game down entirely due to this. Should I just restrict myself to looting the chests after beating a boss?

looting is looting, its a random pot luck, what will you get if you rummage about the dead body, to see before you loot is not really an immersive option for me BUT you do know you can 'drop' stuff you don't want to salvage or sell?
or as many of us have found, you go until you reach a checkpoint, then portal back to town, empty bags and then return to checkpoint and continue dungeon.
I do see you point but don't believe it's a game breaker. So loot everything, you need the stuff to salvage to then later craft some gear you'll need to progress. After a while you'll acquire 'auto loot' abilities or gear and then you don't have to got to each body which saves a little time.
Stick at it, there's lots of fun stuff to be had if you keep going. The guides/maps may help you :D

Thanks for the feedback.

There is an autoloot attribute in the game. It may be obtained on a crafted class trinket you can purchase from Kadrick. There is also one from the Tower Guardian bosses in the Dark Hollow when defeating the Wizard Cymora last. There is also a weapon set that drops in Icy Depths with autoloot as a set bonus.

There are also a few Blacksmiths in Dungeons you can find that can salvage gear for you. For example, in the Dark Hollow there is one in the large pit section and another one in the lava room. Generally speaking, even if you are looting absolutely everything you should be able to find a Blacksmith before completely filling up your inventory.

Hope this helps!

Autoloot as an item/effect is certainly one way of approaching the issue but looting is a core part of the gameplay. It is a little strange to have a player use an attribute/item to fix an issue with the game mechanics. Especially since this then becomes a "Do I want convenience or do I want power" situation. Giving the player built-in convenience options is how you pull players to the platform. Making them choose between convenience and power (when it comes to something as significant as looting enemies) is not a great thing.

You want your playerbase to feel empowered by their experience so they want to keep coming back. Making basic things like looting a chore is not going to encourage strong player retention numbers in the long run.

Also your inventory is vastly larger than a new player might think...

honestly i would love to have the autoloot as basic option instead of having to grind even more to craft the item required to activate it.

An auto loot trinket is a guaranteed reward from killing the Wizard boss last during the Tower Guardians encounter in the Dark Hollow.

When you enter the lake are hug right past the first path to the right to the second one and kill the Kobold boss for the first portal. Defeat both of those bosses then hop back down and go into the first path you skipped. At the top kill the Ettin for the second portal. Then go across the bridge and defeat the Champion, then go back and defeat the Wizard. Take the new portal from defeating her to the loot tower, go to the top and loot the chest for the trinket.
