Thanks for playing, and great response (Wonk Me). The Cleric is due for some class changing in the coming months to give them more damage as a lot of our feedback is they are lacking in this area. Crafting will help you sustain damage output and survivability. Many players will focus on picking a weapon to craft first so they always have a means to increase damage output as they level. Hope this helps and thanks for the feedback.
Hi Dev, and thank you for feedback! Survivability is fairly good so far (just completed the 2nd dungeon).
There are some issues when I as a cleric can't outsustain incoming boss damage (the red armor guy in the Wizard Towers in the 2nd dungeon) because I can't burst them either.
Cleric's DPS is not very good so far and I feel that; having tried Cleric, Champion and Wizard, the game suffers from that spells doesn't synergize with each other.
For example; Wizard have a lot of damage spells, but so far; just like Cleric; the spells seem to be something you just fire off when they go off-cooldown without any strategy.
Maybe it changes later, but I would like to have some kind of combo system for the spells so they interact with or buff up each other.
Not entirely sure why Cleric is Heavy Armor and Hammer either unless it's a throwback to DnD. I would personally prefer Cleric wearing Cloth and wielding a staff personally since they are mainly casters anyway and don't go around crushing undead skull with their hammers in the name of the lord but thay is just a personal preference.
The Sacrifice skill for Cleric is really underwhelming as well; I sacrifice HP for like 125% weapon damage, which is way lower than every other Cleric damage spells across the board and the delayed AoE.. not sure if it fits this game since everything is about burst damage?
I've joined a couple of pugs so far in Normal Crypts and it definately helped that I supported and even ressed at some points.
However the support spells would benefit from a Dev look through because they could definately be more interesting like Cleric in EverQuest that can put elemental shields and such on players.
And again;, just like the DPS skills; synergy between them.
I think it would be a mistake to balance the game around parties because the playerbase is not that big so far on steam at least and I really think the game would benefit from allowing you to play the Cleric as both a "Holy Spell Smiter Mage" (so you can level effectively by yourself) and also let you change skills and play as a Support in group.
Great game so far though!
