Bug Fixes and Requested Features
Hey everyone,

I wanted to make a central bug thread so you guys know what we're working on and what information we need before we can start working on these fixes. I'll be trying to scour the threads for new bugs, but if something's not up here already please post it in this thread so it'll be easy for me to find.

Useful debug information:
  • DxDiag output
  • Steps to reproduce the issue
  • Screenshot of in-game settings
  • Crash dump files
    Often located here C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\CrashDumps
    Replace [USERNAME] with your Windows username. It would be from Ysc_dx11.exe

Please make sure your NVIDIA graphics cards are being properly selected for this game! In order to check this:
1) Right-click your desktop to open NVIDIA Control Panel
2) Go to "Manage 3D Settings"
3) Click "Program Settings" and select Ysc_dx11.exe from the first drop-down menu
4) Select "High-performance NVIDIA processor" on the second drop-down menu

Feel free to request new features as well and I'll pass on what I can to the devs.

In Progress Fixes
  • Game does not launch for some users running Windows 7 Fixed!
  • Guard cannot be used after swimming Fixed!
  • Incorrect KBM button prompts display after mouse buttons are remapped Fixed!
  • Flash guard cannot be used multiple times in quick succession Fixed!
  • Attack animations differ slightly at different framerates
  • Players using KBM are unable to walk Fixed!

Bugs we're investigating in-house:
  • Fullscreen resolutions not behaving as intended
  • Minor audio issues

Features we're looking into:
  • Option to automatically generate mipmaps for textures applied to 3D models. Added!

The tower of Providence prop of the region, gale shoes, is acquired and equipped with its own running sound when it is not running like the Chinese version. Please check and repair it.


Correct, Se pulled to the top or there was a sound. But you can barely hear the voice when you pull down the BGM.

Just filing a second report for the GPDWin2 not being able to play the game in proper full screen. Resolutions only go up to 1280x600, all resolutions are letter boxed and zoomed out.

I'm having an odd issue with frame skips when running at 60 FPS or higher. The game runs smoothly except jitters slightly every two seconds or so, regardless of the environment. This does not happen at 30 FPS, and it is less noticeable if I set the frame rate to unlimited (but it's still not perfectly smooth). This seems to happen regardless of other graphical settings. (I turned VSYNC on and off, HDR on and off, etc. It doesn't have any effect.) I'm running Windows 7 Professional with an i7-6700 3.4Ghz CPU, Radeon R9 360 (2 GB GDDR5) and 16 GB memory.

Use RTSS to limit the fps to what you want. Frame pacing is practically perfect this way.

Still not launching is there gonna be a fix soon?
Reporting that the update that showed up earlier either today or this week solved the resolution issues for the GPDWin2. Thanks!

Chinese version supports 21:9 ratio, but unfortunately not this version.

I noticed that mipmaps can be automatically generated by the latest version. However, would it be better to generate them, compress them, and store them in game files to reduce GPU memory usage and increase performance by letting the GPU store more textures in its caches because they are compressed so that the GPU spends less time going to its graphics DRAM?

Medium bug:
Not sure if anyone else reported this, but Ozma is unable to do critical damage during his EXTRA skill attack. Even his alternate EXTRA attack with the Hero's Ring. Performing a flash guard immediately before using the EXTRA attack makes it do critical damage (yellow damage indicators) for everyone but Ozma.

That's normal. Those attacks don't knock you back/down. It's the same way in Ys SEVEN. The bird boss uses tornado attacks. After taking damage, you can still block/dodge.

No, it's not normal. This is a bug that's not present in the original PS Vita version.
