Original Japanese
Could you please release the game in it's original Japanese form as well? There are tons of Japanese people that would love to play this series on Steam and I don't know why your company insists on either taking the Japanese text or voice over out. This is the Steam version, if you rip it up then Japanese speakers get screwed out of enjoying the game on this platfrom. Please rethink your publishing strategy.

Japanese text is included. As for voices XSEED couldn't get the license rights to those so they can't put them in the game.

Jaspanese text is included. If you need the grunts in Japanese just wait a few hours for someone to make an undub.

I know full well there is Japanese text. I can read. I want the game in it's original Japanese form which means including the Japanese voicework. And there are lines of dialogue in the game it isn't just "grunts." Using an undub patch would be illegal. Why would a pay a company money for publishing a game in a way I don't appreciate and forces me to use illegal content? Might as well just steal the whole game.

Well, if you want to play the game on PC with the Japanese grunts, using an "illegal" undub will be your only option. Blame Falcom for their contracts, Xseed alrady said that the can't use the Japanese voices for that reason.

Blame your country's voice acting agencies, which frequently included Asia-only clauses in their contracts, meaning publishers outside that area (any western publisher) aren't allowed to use the original Japanese voice clips, even if they're just grunts.

So by buying the game here and using an undub, you avoid rewarding the "guilty" party (the JP voice agency) while also not punishing the other parties. (Falcom and XSeed)

It's just as people said above me. it isn't XSEED's fault that they can't put Japanese voices. Blame the contracts. AFAIK the contract changed with Tokyo Xanadu eX+ so future Falcom games can have dual audio in West.

To add on this; the change coincidentally happened after Kondo acknowledged that they never imagined there would be a demand for JP voiced in an interview following Cold Steel 2's English release. The translated interview is on Eurogamer.

This game has barely any voiced dialogue. It's inconsequential to the game.

just wait few hours for the unoffical japanese voice fan patch,

falcom has this waird new contract that's hinders them from giving those japanese VA.

This. No point getting/bothered with the Japanese dub since it's just a grunt.

So its just battle cries like in the tails in the sky games?
I hope we get mods like with those games as well. If not i might just deal with it. If its so few lines i can see past it, tbh.

It's absolutly their fault. "Contracts" are always involved in dual audio situations. XSEED just chose that it wasn't worth it to go after those "contracts." Again, their fault - they ported the game and did not bring them over, can't treally blame that on anyone else.

That said, given the lack of voiced dialog, it probably just didn't make sense to their bottom line. Of course they'll alienate some folks with this decision, but it is what it is.

Same cast of terrible wall readers as usual, but completly avoidable if you turn the battle voices off.
