Shadows: Awakening Sequel - Please cast your vote now
Hi All,

After playing this AMAZING AWESOME game of Shadows Awakening, I think there should be a sequel or another Shadows: Awakening.

I have done a similar thing with Hellraid https://steamcommunity.com/app/226920/discussions/0/494631967652038878/

and got many responses but sadly the developers created a DLC instead but that was a different kind of game.

But if you would like another Shadow Awakening why not vote now. The more response we hopefully the developers might give us a sequel.

NOW please vote here by responding positively to this. Thank you all.

I vote in favour with a bit of feedback.
:Page: The strongest point the game has is the art. Great design and the game is unique in letting you play a few non-humans (that are not variants of them like vampires, elves, tieflings, etc). So please, if you decide to make a sequel don't fall for the trend of high fantasy games lately of focusing on less content and less originality like forcing you into playing one generic human warrior/mage/rogue. Playing as a wolf warrior or a lizard shaman is badass. Also, the UI is good and intuitive, I would keep that as is.
:Page: The weakest point is the puzzles. If you want to cut somewhere that's the place. Puzzles in general are hard to pull off and in this game they're specially tedious because they often depend on the game working properly (like being able to press the button to activate a lever, which sometimes fails because you need to face the lever without being too close or else the command doesn't prompt).
:Page: There's room for improvement in several fields.
:steamthis: Combat is dull. For an ARPG you actually fight very few enemies. It's usually 3 or 4 enemies every screen and once you wipe them out the map is empty which is a problem with all the backtracking you have to do.
:steamthis: Controls can also be improved and make the combat more fluid.
:steamthis: Voiceovers and dialogs... Right now they don't match with what I see. I mean, I play something called "devourer" and he has very lame lines. Like he's supposed to be this otherworldly threat but he sounds very compliant and even goofy sometimes. Also... The voice of Zaar is so mundane for a wolf warrior....

To make it clear, if you used the exact formula with new characters I'd probably buy the game blind (that is offering a wide range of heroes, very imaginative and non-human with a good choice of art being mature without ending on the "plain" side of things, still being interesting to the eye). I'm not trying to criticize because I appreciate a high fantasy game finally giving the good stuff but let's say that's just a wish list of things I'd like to see.

Only if they get rid of the boulder puzzles.

I disagree with that.

That is a wonderful feature, not a bad thing.

What is colossally annoying are games with endlessly respawning trash mobs, which force you to either fight, and/or annoyingly run through them, every single time you return to an area you've already cleared.

I can understand why no respawning wouldn't work for a farming-based game like Diablo or something like that.

For for a story-driven game like Shadows, then respawning enemies would be horrible.

Although I do agree with the suggestions they should tone down the boulder puzzles in the sequel, which I hope they make.

I do like some puzzles. But the boulder puzzle was quite challenging. I had to Youtube it for solutions. I really did not like the other puzzles like. The rotating ones and go to different map then come back etc. Those were annoying. Yes, I saw the Youtube viceos but never bothered with it. Just continued with game unless there was a powerful unique weapon etc.

What bothers me is not the lack of respawning per se (Diablo I didn't have respawns) it's the fact that you wipe mobs with such ease and there's so much backtracking (at least the first time you play, maybe a second run makes it less so) that you end up with little to do other than walk. This is saved by the good art the game has.
