Game stops loading after hitting new game
As what the title says, I try to start a game and nothing happens it stops loading at around 90% and I have done everything you can think of to try to get it to work nothing has helped, is t here a way that someone knows that hasn't already, I have uninstalled fresh, deleted the file, reinstalled, done windows compatibility mode, everything I have read I have done so WTF.

Well I got it to work by having patience and just left it on the loading screen, came back to it after 10+ minutes and it loaded into the game. I know before running it in Win 7 the game loaded in seconds but in Win 10 it takes alot longer but it did load. Just leave in on the loading screen go make some coffee and come back, it will work. Hopefully this helps.

Hi @Kasnadak,

this sounds like a technical issue.
Please contact our support: support@kalypsomedia.com

What does the Support Team need to address my problem, and what can I provide to speed up the process?
  • Please include the complete title of the game that you are having problems with
Also include a (small) description of your problem. Probably with steps on how to reproduce the issue.
  • Please provide your full system information.
  • To do so, please attach a DxDiag.txt to the email if possible. To create the DxDiag.txt, please do the following:
Click "Start" button and choose "Run". Or alternatively, press (Windows-Button)+R
Then type "dxdiag" (without quotation marks) and click “OK”
Click the "Save all Information"-button, located at the bottom of the program window
    Save the file as "dxdiag.txt”
Attach the file "dxdiag.txt" to your email to support@kalypsomedia.com

Cheers
Same here. Ran fine with Win 7 now that I went to win 10 the game does not load, freezes at around 90%. Task manager says not responding. Like I said worked great on Win 7 now nothing.

Do you have it under running in compatibility mode?

I can confirm this still works, even for the GoG version; but it still needs to be fixed!

No I wouldn't and, yes I finally just let it sit for a couple of minutes and it worked. That is why I made that the correct answer

This is completely unacceptable and should be punishable to sell without fixing, 10 minutes everytime you have to load, is not playable, period.

You can always tell just how lazy a development team is when they rely on work-a-rounds rather than putting in the work to fix the actual bugs! They really need to fix this bug for steam AND gog users, but they won't as it's been a couple of years since this bug has been brought up!

I feel you too, owners with games like this didn't deserve it either. My legal issue, is that it should be illegal to sell games that will not be made functional on modern systems. I grabbed it on a Black Friday bundle sale at Fanatical for 3.33 with another game. There should be laws requiring companies to keep up on titles they want to sell. I respect the artform, but it must be made functional.

Yeah, and seeing as this is a relatively new bug makes it all the more infuriating that they won't do anything about it!

I don't know if this will work for you but it finally fixed these insane loading times for me here AND with the suttering I was semi-fixing with Vsync controlled by my GPU.. "-window-mode exclusive" Add that to the launch options window commands by right clicking on your game and selecting properties and in the general tab apply it there.

Well whaddya know, it worked! Thanks for this bit of info!

NOTE: I'm a GoG user so I applied that to the launch shortcut and it works just as well as the steam launch options!

Just need to have patience. Starting a new game takes super long for whatever reason. The game will seemingly freeze (appear as not responding in task manager) but it is just working. Leave it be for a while and it will start.
