Did you hit the rat with a spell or something before this?

You're supposed to just run/dash toward the rat and click on it

If you use any skills like possession on it, you have to reload. I recommend reloading the one before the meeting because reloading the autosave from inside the prison causes some items to be missing from the chest.

No. As i said i tried everything. And yes, thats what i do, i use the posess spell and after that i start clicking like a madman on the rat, and nothing happens. I can try to dash towards, i put myself in front of the rat, still clicking, nothing happens. I tried this for one entire day, but not anymore. I will wait to see if they fix it with a patch or something, until then im done with this game. Its getting ridiculous how many design flaws and bugs you can find. I expected they learned from heretic kingdoms but apparently the only thing they did was to add the book 2 and thats about it without even worrying about polishing or actually improving things, not the other way around. I cant recommend this game to anyone.

Yup, tried reloading several times, even before the meeting, (i was wondering if there was a way to avoid the failed quests) always the same.

Idk whats wrong could be with that. First time you see a rat try to catch it. Rat will run away. Then take cover again and rat will show itself on longer distance from her hole. And you can easly catch it by running beforehand the rat.
Where the hell did you found so many problems?... So far I play this game a second time, I met only one bug with one achievement what was fixed on the next day. All others was just fine and I have n problems with anythng.

There is only one real problem in this game - so poor graphics settings. I couldn't choose to "Bloor OFF\ON" or quality of shadows or anything. Its just like "Very low - Low - Medium - High - Very High". And that is only problem.

You're not supposed to use posses on it. If you do ,the rat turns from an NPC into a normal enemy and breaks that section.

You just wait in the shadow and run into it and mash right click on it before it goes back into hiding.

Only one problem? jeeezus. Control system is terrible. Collilsion boxes are incredibly badly designed. Missions not triggering or doors not interactable all around. If we are not talking about bugs, just terrible design choices. Like not being able to level up outside the main quest history line, like mission descriptions completely vague and most of the times you dont have a clue what to do, puzzles that sometimes are a pain only because the clues are completely unreadable or whatever. Cutscenes that will stop your progress when you still have things to do without warning. I could go on naming all the bad things about this game but i wont.

Poor graphic settings? sure, but a game like this one does not need much. And thats the only problem you found? did you actually played the game? lol.

Thats the problem!! i keep trying to catch the rat without success. It is like if the rat was just a decorative thing. I know how to do it, but the mechanics are so stupidly implemented that it is embarrasing to waste an entire day trying to do this. I know what to do, it is just the dumb game wont let me. And honestly im tired of mechanics like this lol. Its embarrasing for a game of 2018.

Sorry dude, but are you total idiot? I'm playing this game right now, and I have a lot of fun. Its my 2nd playthrough btw. All puzzels seems SO simple if you just understand how to do that.

I had no bugs like "mission dont triggered" or anything. Also I see no reason to "level-up" outside a quests-line. You just do what you should - play a story, explore everything, solve everythng as well. Isn't that a "level-up"? Huh? Missions just so simple. You have markers where to go and what to do. Only if you choose "old-school mode" there is no markers so that could be a problem for people like you. If you dont wanna use your brains just a bit, probably this game isn't for you, dude.

Apparently you are the idiot, for calling me idiot in first place.

Didnt say puzzles are hard, i said that the clues to solve em are barely understandable most of the times, specially for newbies. Thats a big problem, and sorry to break your bubble but this is a problem that was already present in heretic kingdoms. That is not a big deal anyways, it was just an example.

Well, unlike you, i love to play in hardest difficulty in most games and levelling up is part of that fun experience. Levelling up, gathering more skills, more experience to face dangers you couldnt pass before that, its a really neat experience. And it is the basis of all games of this kind. Maybe you dont play many games, its understandable that you are ok with it. And honestly this game feels completely dull without that part of any game.

Didnt say missions are hard. I said that the way they present you those missions is terrible. Just a text of 2 lines and thats about it. No clues where to get items, how to get em, no clues about what thigns makes a mission to fail, or not, etc. That is a complete lazy work from the devs. Totally lazy work. This was a problem in heretic kingdoms and most people complained about it, but i guess peoples hopes are completely ignored.

And wtf, man, im not talking about not using my brain, you of course missunderstood everything i said (probably because you are a fanboy, or just someone who works for em). Im talking about doing things right, as simple as that. If you love to play mediocre products all the time, thats up to you. I will be not surprised if everybody thinks like you, because the videogaming industry is worst every day.

LMAO. I played on Hard first time and now I'm playing on Extreme with "old-school mode" option. Any questions?... About missions - you have a quest, you have a story - what else do you need. Btw why I just talking with you if you cannot even pass a prison stage in game. Its SO simple.

Well, after many attempts, what I saw was that we should keep trying to get it, either with skill or in the same punch. I tried about 20min, the attempts are marked, when the DEVOURED says CURSE (or DAMMIT). That is, it was not possible to capture the mouse yet. Try harder, I think it's not a bug, but it's part of the gameplay. Switch between skills and direct clicks, you will. One tip is to reload the saved auto game in this chapter. obs: even the devourer, possessing the kill possession, this is not the main skill to capture the mouse. Try everything, the chapter is for the same time, in my case was very fast when I used any skill, I think even I did not give a critical hit, it was by chance the capture of the damn mouse.

I too have just had this same problem and after trying everything for about 10 mins, I found this discussion.

It's a bug still. I could freeze/click on the rat and nothing would happen - even so much that the rat would move without animation (slide) across the floor when I went after it.

I ended up reloading a few times until finally when my Devourer was just waiting in the little hiding room and the rat came close , my Devourer said something like "Who are you little rat...".

After that I could click on the rat and the game progressed.
Previously my Devourer wouldn't talk about the rat and I couldn't progress.

So I'd say that if you don't get the Devourer talking about the rat first and try to do things it won't work so maybe this will help someone.
