You can save at any time. If that is what your were trying to complain about.

There are restrictions, check points, objects...the bonfires of Dark Souls, or the typewriters of Resident Evil, the checkpoints of Gears of War or Uncharted...but you can never save in the middle of a battle, if you fail, you will restart since the begining of the mission or the last checkpoint that you reached.

Better?
So? CRPG had manual saves at any moment since the beggining of times. What is your complaint as the person above me said?
PS: Also all you examples are CONSOLE primary games. Consoles can`t handel manual saves so they need to use checkpoints and fixed spawn locations.

I also don't understand the complaint here. I mean it has nothing to do with other games you mentioned and it's not bound by rng. There's not really any issue with being able to save anytime you want. If you're having trouble with a fight somewhere, saving will only save you the backtracking. You're still gonna get your ass handed to you numerous times on Hard or Expert.

Edit: Also, if you don't enjoy manual saves during "this or that"... Just don't do it?

Your examples are flawed. For example, saving in Dark Souls isn't strictly restricted to bonfires. You can quit the game and when you reload it again, your character will be standing at exactly the same place where you left him and the world/enemies will be at the exact state you left them in.

Go visit the Dark Souls forum and make your complaint there also and then come back to us. Or don't. I don't think anybody really cares about this.

Or he just as bouchard said can, you know, not use the save game feature or only save his game in safe places like towns?

The game have to mark the limits, not me.
For example, Bioshock, when are you supossed to figure the check points?
It is a wrong desing, the correct form is like on Gears of War, there are a group of enemies and you have to kill one by one until the end, if not, start again. It is absurd, like in Bioshock start to save all progress each step you do, because there is not auto save or check points, are developers saying I should to imagine how much time orhow many enemies should I wait for saving?
The game has to do it, the game has had to be tested before.
Ok, this here is a lost cause. Hand/Brain holding to the max.

I do not understand, for example, to save my progress in the first stage of Tetris when I got 4 lines and if I am not able to finish the stage, then I can charge my last manual save when I had the 4 lines done.
So absurd, ridiculous and loser, and it is starting to become like an standar for some companies.

BEST ANSWER: Most of games use the classic system, is the developer who use him mind for desing check points and try to find the perfect balance.
This manual save system at any time is for losers and lazy desing system.

Closed topic.
whats the point? bored?

No offense, but I can't understand the problem simply because I can't understand that grammar.

Being able to save anytime doesn't only have advantages.

I remember playing Drakan on PS2 that also let you save at anytime (but doesn't have autosave) where I saved at the exact moment an enemy hit me from behind and killed me.

That rendered my save file useless and I had to restart the whole game.

I instantly understood that he is one of those special snowflakes who try to hammer in their vision/opinion into other heads and absolutely doesn`t care about anything others have to say. So, yeah, better just to ignore him.

Oh my god, Mr Hipocresy talking...
Go out if you do not like the post and do not disurb and manipulate the rest of users with your ideas, or create your own post.
Proof of my hypocrisy or it did not happen.

You dont have to save manually if you dont want, its there for those that want it. What if you cant play the game for long periods of time, and need to save progress to continue later, what if a game crashes, and you loose progress. For a game that makes choices permenant, if it only used autosave, you would not beable to try things out, your stuck with whatever choice you made, even if you hate it.

Also, making a manual save system is very complicated, there are many variables, and many games dont use them and opt for checkpoints because it is easier, so to call it lazy developing to have manual saves is beyond stupid, you should be ashamed of yourself.

BTW red, if you really wanted the mods to delete the posts, you can just delete it yourself, you can delete anythign you make, posts even the whole thread

Aeternum was on point. Your claim makes no sense. Monsters do not respawn in this game once you have killed them. It is not a grinding game... Saving anywhere makes absolutely no difference. Let's say it would follow the same concept Dark Souls has and have you respawn at the nearest Sanctuary, monsters would still be dead to prevent that sort of farming/grinding and all that would accomplish is make you walk an empty level for no good reason.

This is not Dark Souls, Resident Evil or Gears of War. This is Shadows: Awakening and that "problem" of yours is not an actual one. It would not make the game more difficult nor does saving anywhere makes it easier, it only prevents pointless back-tracking. What is there to comprehend beyond this?
