Stuttering + sound glitches
For reference, I have a low-end laptop by today's standards (slightly higher than the minimum requirements for this game). The first few minutes of gameplay are fairly smooth, but after a point the stuttering starts, accompanied by sound glitches and choppy dialogue. I'm playing on the lowest resolution with graphical quality set to 'Good', although changing that seems to only make a minor difference. Any tips or suggestions on .ini or Nvidia CP tweaks? Spent $40 purely based on the listed minimum requirements and FWIW, I'm really liking the game otherwise.

Hi, stuttering and choppy dialogues is weird. Sound should play properly regardlless of your configuration (more or less).

Can you please turn on fps and also share with us your configuration? A video with the issue would be very helpful too!
Stuttering me too. Especially at the first play. When reloading the game disappears and then reappear when there are autosave and access to the disk for level up or loading new items. Win10 - 7700k - gtx 1070 - 398.36

I've trying everything. Vsync/no vsync in game. Forced it in Nvcp. Settings maximum pre-rendered frame to 1. Using RTSS to cap frame and fix frametime. Change audio frequency to 16bit 44100hz.

Please...fix it because it's a great game!!!

My specs:
Intel i5 4200m 2.5Ghz
Geforce 740m 2GB
8 GB RAM
Win 10

The GPU usage is almost at 100% during gameplay and temps reach 95+ with a fairly playable fps of around 30-40, until the stuttering starts. I know I'm probably due for an upgrade anyway, so I refunded the game. If there are any major tweaks or fixes you can provide, I can probably try to cancel the refund. Either way, I'm definitely going to buy the game again once I have a new system.

There is no chance this is because of your configuration, your configuration is the way too powerful to have any kind of performance issue. You have to run the game 60+ fps.

I suspect something more system-specific, either some software, or driver, or something incompatible causing sound stuttering. It may be difficult to identify this clearly though as we need to reproduce the issue on our end. I suspect this is more low level Unity problem; but hard to say exactly.

Can I kindly ask you to play the game until the stuttering happen, play for a minute or two and then quit the game, pack the log and dxdiag file and send it over to us? Not sure it would help but at least we would get some more information... :)
More details how to do it:

Thanks for answering. The issue isn't the fps, but the stuttering. In my case sound is perfectly, but visual stuttered in some case. For example if I use X360 Pad or if i switch frequently from two character forms. After more analysis i've noticed that in that case alt-tab solve the problem. I suspect some memory leaks...

Sounds like a heating problem. Try to clean out your laptop (if you know how, since its harder with laptops than stationaries). I play the game at max settings without any problems and my stationary is quite low end aswell.

6700HQ GTX1070 16GB of RAM with SSD here. I noticed some visual stuttering almost everytime new dialogue boxes appear on the screen. It's like my laoptop is having a slight difficulty loading new conversation. Everything else is great.

This reminded me famous "Unity Engine Exclusive Fullscreen" problem/situation... I don't know if Developers added Exclusive Fullscreen mode to this game, but on my previous experiences with some Unity Engine based Games, this was the main issue. There were some micro/macro stuttering going on, even on very high end systems.

Solution was using a command line on game's "Set Launch Options" section.

-window-mode exclusive

Or (-force d3d9 .... not sure)

Also on another unity engine game called "Battle Chasers: Nightwar" , there was a very strange and similar problem, and Unparking CPU cores + using "High Performance" power profile also helped this situation, beside Exclusive Fullscreen mod >>> https://steamcommunity.com/app/451020/discussions/0/1693785035827813493/

I hope these informations help.

Here is an example for the Game Delevoper : https://forum.unity.com/threads/exclusive-fullscreen-as-a-option-for-game-developers.390561/

"-window-mode exclusive" helped me with running stutter.

It also ends this really nasty loading bug, oh my gawd, it's a miracle..
Similar specs, 2025 drivers, same problem, and this doesn’t help. Sucks. Game is playable for a minute. UPD: Had to run the game with ‘fastest’ graphics setting in a small window. This way it’s playable, but sound stuttering is sometimes present and very annoying. I mean, i’m fine with time lag and i know how to handle it even in fast action games, but i’m used to hearing clear sound even in laggy games. Meaning it can be separated from overall lag, it’s just not done here.
