Monster truck race
It would be great if there was a race track that required building a monster truck or tank. Something strewn with huge boulders, short vertical cliffs, and debris that requires big suspension and climbing capabilities in order to traverse.

Currently, all the off-road tracks have fairly smooth terrain which makes most suspension parts irrelevant in race mode. A track filled with debris would create some interesting engineering challenges that aren't present in other maps.

if you can't traverse a track without suspension due to it having too many bumps the solution is simple: don't try, just use one of those bumps to get airborne and land on the next safe area, if you are fast enough the game won't reset you, monster truck wheels simply have too mych weight and drag to achieve any high speed at low core leagues so flying would give a huge advantage to people who don't fly, but even if you don't fly unless the ground is made out of rocks you don't need any sort of suspension, the wheels built in suspension is enough to drive as long as you don't need to take jumps. And this comes from someone who has first place on most rally races and has holded it for months without anyone getting close times in most of them

Yes that is true, alvaroping. I think you may have misread my suggestion.

I'm not complaining about bumps on the map. I'm suggesting that an update to the game adds a new map which is so incredibly bumpy that there is no safe place to land and no reasonable way to traverse the terrain without suspension parts.

The new race could discourage flying strategies by including a lot of obstacles in the air (it could be in a cave), or just outright banning all aircraft engines at the starting line.

This would create some interesting new design challenges. As you observe, with the current set of maps pretty much the same strategies work for all of them.

That's exactly like i understood it, if it's too bumpy you can just fly across, if it's not bumpy enough you can just use wheels' built in suspension or even a single straigh suspension, monster truck wheels or complex suspension systems would never be used

Air obstacles don't discourage flying vehicles much, back when the tailwind update was in closed beta one of the last races of rally (skull island) didn't had the respawn timer when flying activated and i got first place by flying across the entire race (even though there is a cave in the middle), and before rally update where there was no respawn timer all races where dominated by people using planes, even some races like three bridges (which required to go through a tunnel) and valley (which requires going through a tunnel and various arches) were beaten using planes. Disabling thrusters as a whole isn't a solution either because people complain when arbitrary limitations are set on a sandbox game

I can tell you that even if a map like this was added i would manage to beat it without monster truck wheels, even a single straight suspension+off road wheels is better than truck wheels due to how much weight and drag those have, my vehicles would require very little modifications to allow them to beat the race
