camera constantly spinning when using steam streaming
Hello,
I use steam in-home streaming to play your game on big screen. But when I exit a vehicle (with F), cammera spins constantly around vertical axis, making game unplayable. Only way to recover is to use "backspace" to respawn.
The problem does not show up when playing directly on the PC. Using gamepad does not change anything - camera still spinning.
I use streaming with a lot of steam games and it works seamlessly with them, so I think the problem is in this game, not in streaming itself.
Please help.

Hey micher,

If you don't mind, could you see if this issue occurs if you disconnect your mouse? I think (guessing here) it could be related to that. A quick search of the Steam Home Streaming discussions showed up some other games exhibiting similar behaviour (Minecraft, BioShock Infinite).

If you let me know that is indeed the case, I can pass the info onto the team and we can look into a fix on our end. :)

Thanks for the quick reply. I will try what you said today, after work.

One more thing I forgot to mention: "spinning" does not occur when character is in the water (swimming).

I will let you know how it went with mouse diconnected in serveral hours.
Hello again.

You were right! Disconnecting mouse from the host PC fixed the problem - no more spinning! Mouse can still be connected to the receving pc (that one which is connected to the TV) though.

One more info for the devs - the problem does not always show up instantly, today I needed to play for about 15 minutes until the spinning thing started. Disconnecting mouse from host stopped spinning.

At least I have some workaround for now, thanks for help!

Update:
I don't know what happened but mouse trick no longer helps.
I didn't played much (my kid was, he does not disconnect mouse, he is playing sandbox and using respawn) , so I don't know if before if was just an accident or if it really helped.

So for now I cannot stop spinning no matter what I do.

EDIT: video to demostrate the issue: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1579301948

Skip to 1:25 to see it in water.

Make sure you don't have something like VJoy (or other joystick emulator) installed. From what I was able to find out that can cause these camera issues if you have no wired or wireless joysticks/gamepads/controllers connected. Won't hurt to disable joystick/gamepad in TM's settings as well.
@Agent West - I don't use any joystick emulators. Disabling controler in the options doesn't change anything.

@Bojangle - Any feedback from the devs? This camera is driving me crazy....
Btw. my kid discovered today, that if you "fight" the spining long enough with a mouse (and it is _really_ long) it eventually will stop. But only until you get in vehicle and get out again. Then it starts spinning again.

I did some research and it seems to be related to some steam streaming bug, how it transmits mouse position between screens with diffrent dpis. Most games don't care, but some (especially those with click+drag camera movement) are affected. Unfortunatelly the bug has been there for a long time and there is very little chance for a fix.
Maybe there is a way to disable mouselook while walking ? Or can you make it work the same way like while driving or swimming?
Guys, I know that it is early access but any feedback would be nice... I don't expect you will fix it rigth away, I understand you have you priorities, but at least please confirm that you have it on your list or something...

Sorry micher, it's a busy period here getting stuff wrapped up before we take a short break to enjoy the holidays.

It's logged internally and upon speaking to the programmers, this exact issue also happens when people work from home and use remote desktop, so I can say it IS something we'll fix but I can't give you an ETA right now.
OK, thanks for the confirmation. Promise not to bother you anymore, I just needed to be sure that you will adress it some day.

Happy holidays! :steamhappy:
2 Years later this exact same problem as described above still exists. Is there any chance of a fix? The game is unplayable and it is only possible for me to play via steam streaming. All other games I have work fine. I have tried detaching the mouse etc it makes no difference.
Got the same problem, if I stream on an other pc I also can't stop spinning, even if I deconnect the mouse.
I tried to produce a mod to see if I could resolve the issue that way but setting the player rotation doesn't seem to stop the spinning. I don't think the mod api provides sufficient control of the camera to fix it that way.
The same, i'm remonte me PC and the same bug camera. But thx dev for your work but plz this bug is ............ :) :)

Just bought the game and the problem occurs for me with Parsec. I quit parsec, went on the host and the problem was still present. Disconnected host mouse and problem persisted. Hopefully this issue gains traction as it's pretty game breaking.
