So ♥♥♥♥ me who was playing stranding in space completely solo.

What's the issue?

You get one free repair no matter the situation (I like to use it to prevent fall damage, or land a plane in tricky spots). Once the freebie repair is used up, if you're still moving the meter slowly fills up until you get another repair. If you stop moving, you can repair infinitely. It's obvious to me the goal behind repair tokens is to prevent repair spam, which would trivialize the whole game if you could always, 100% of the time under any circumstances, instantly reset your vehicle.

I am also playing Stranded in Space completely solo.

The whole fun of the game for me was transforming mid-air into different planes. Thank you for butchering it for me with no option to disable even in single-player.

The issue is vehicle transformations use repair tokens. It should be a multiplayer only setting.

Dude this repair tokens mechanic is complete BS, the game is already super janky and you make me wait to change my vehicle come on.

I fell in the water in singleplayer. Sure would be nice to transform into a boat right now. But no token, so I have to sink (and get pushed out of the seat because it's not the single watertight one) because that's SO much better.

Just had another example: Broke my plane while trying to land on the sky islands. Sure would be nice to repair it, but nooo, I have to fall all the way down into the water... AND STILL HAVE TO KEEP WAITING UNDERWATER FOR THE DANG TOKEN! :cozyspaceengineersa:

I found that you can just go to the surface and wait completely still for a moment and you should be able to repair or transform. Idk if that's a valid solution but that's what I do.

anyone know a way to remove it using mods or anything, cus this just makes my life hell especially with planes and boats
Taehl Apr 28, 2024 @ 10:56am
Sure would be nice, wouldn't it?

It's pretty annoying, especially when i'm trying to quick-morph from my plane to heli or from a jeep to a boat while juggling a heavy scrap which is about to roll off an edge.

token refills faster the more stuff you break on someone elses craft, its literally a pvp mechanic
Taehl Jun 3, 2024 @ 12:39pm
Why is this PvP mechanic still forced on my singleplayer campaign?

which campaign? because 2 of the 4 campaigns are combat related.

The token instantly refreshes when standing still. So it's really not a problem in Stranded in space.

It exists for PvP and for example the Airborne campaign. Being able to immediately repair after the slightest damage both ruins the challenge (difficulty) and fun (in PvP).

Thats why they exist.
Complaining about that is like crying about "why won't they make the Airborne campaign boringly easy" or "why can't I be a piece of ♥♥♥♥ to my friends in PvP". What would be the point of combat systems if you could just basically ignore/avoid all consequences?

For the non-PvE Campaigns, get used to just stopping when you got time so you refresh a used token. Spending those 3 seconds of your life won't hurt you.

Being stationary in mid-air is impossible, how can you transform into different planes in flight then ?
