DLC's are getting out of hand
I think its pretty silly that a game that hardly updates makes most features in every update behind a paywall. I already payed for the game why should I have to pay for essentially every update. I get that it is a smaller indie game but its getting ridiculous at this point. DLC's should be for cosmetics and skins not game parts. It just feels petty to me that I can use other peoples builds with DLC parts but I am unable to use them myself when they are already in the game. You want to build a boat? Sorry, gonna have to use the limited ugly water parts that have been in the game for years. Please fix your game.

one time i stopped playing for a month and came back only to find like 3 more dlcs WTF.
if they want more money make the game more expensive
(im Canadian so they cost me $20 for the good ones and $10 for the skin ones.
$10 FOR AN A** DLC 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭)(in total like $50-$80 for all + 20 for the base game, so $100 for blocky car game😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭)😭😭
This is an exaggeration. There has never been more than 1 DLC in less than 3 months, and it's usually 1 DLC every 6 months. If the DLCs weren't a thing, support would have ended a long time ago, and making the base game more expensive simply doesn't work

iv played indie games with A SINGLE DEV no marketing team, and no ads. AND THEY STILL DONT HAVE THIS MANY DLCs, and this is a relatively big game and it "needs" this many dlcs?

Exactly it's becoming The Sims 4

I wouldnt mind the DLCS if it was purely cosmetic
But some parts in the DLCS are straight up needed if you want to make certain things
Such as the 1x1 thruster or the large prop for realistic planes
Seriously the vanilla prop is a joke for planes

"Other games have single devs and don't have nearly as many DLC!" Exactly, Trailmakers has a dev team to pay, not just a dev. It's also continuously getting updated, whereas many of those games are finished or nearly finished on release. I'd much rather Trailmakers continue updating with DLC than updates stop entirely.

I'm perfectly okay with the cosmetic dlcs
I don't like the expansion dlcs or dlcs with parts, I would much prefer those to be free updates.
If it were only cosmetic dlcs I'd probably buy all of them, like I have for DRG. However because it's a mix, I just get the dlcs with the functional parts in them.
It's also an additional barrier to entry for new people, if I'm trying to get a friend into the game I have to inform them of what is in each dlc so they can figure out which ones to get, and the longer the list gets the less inclined they are to purchase.

My personal preference would be to only make cosmetic dlc going forward.
If not that, then split the functional parts and cosmetics into two different dlcs for reduced prices.
Not like any dev I've expressed this to has ever listened but that's just how it goes. I'm just some nobody with an opinion, either they'll listen or they won't. As long as the game continues to be good I'll be happy, but if the dlc pattern continues I doubt I'm ever going to get any of my friends interested.

Oh. More people saying the same things I have. I decided to glance back after seeing the skin pack.

I'll re-iterate. People -will- buy cosmetics. There's a lot of room for cosmetics.

To repeat a post a year or more ago; besides block skins, there's clothing and alternate models, hats. I'd even take novelty blocks like the sirens, flags, ETC. As they are actually -cosmetic-, or things like re-skinned existing parts.
