Question about salvage pieces

So I only have 5-10 salvage pieces to retrieve in the stranded mode. In the beginning when I brought a piece to the Drones a big deal was made. Sound and camera change just as the salvage piece floated up. Now when I do it there is no sound and camera change. It just quietly floats up. However the salvage piece does not appear in my usable pieces. And there is no change in my progress bar. Any ideas?

In the first patch of 1.8 explosive salvage was bugged and didn't work correctly, but that should have been fixed in 1.8.1. Are you on a console version (1.8.1 hasn't been released there yet)?

Then update your game and try again, the hotfix with the fix was released for consoles shortly after i posted my previous comment
