Sails can't be added because they are part of the high seas expansion, which isn't needed to buy airborne
hinges already exists and can be used for that while being 1x1x1
They do care, in fact the airborne campaign as a whole was made specifically because players asked for more combat options/mechanics. As for mods the problem is that only a small subset of the player base (the fraction of steam players who likes to play with mods) actually benefits from them, the majority of it (the remaining fraction of steam players, as well as all console players) either doesn't care about or doesn't have access to them. As a result, not many resources can be spent on them
Still don't see it that way, and hinges work very poorly, really not at all for blade pitch unless you add a bunch of other blocks, and the sails could be made free just like some of the blocks from the Air DLC. But none of that is what matters, and like I said kinda strayed from my initial topic, its the fact that a poor example of a campaign was launched that really didn't have a lot of content, was really easy, and they left out parts. The combat system is really all that came from the DLC and it was free. They are "going to add the large Jet" so why was it not in there in the first place? Maybe because no one really cared.
Games will go the way of mods with or without the game creators help, and there are tons of modders out there. Devs either provide or players provide for themselves, or leave, its very simple. And as fast as games are popping out and dying off I don't see trailmakers lasting much longer, especially if this is how new content is going to work from now on.
The excuses Devs make and players make on their behalf is a lot of the problem, almost every new Early Access release, or new dlc is a simple cash grab feeding off players desires for a quality game, and that is what this DLC feels like.
Oh and just because it was said, there are probably more people playing with modded games than not, it's almost the only way to get quality content out of this generation of early access garbage. I mean look at scrap mechanic, they haven't had a decent update in years and are only kept alive by the modders they are now attacking.
