Trailmakers
Campaign is SO frustrating.
EVERY thing i try to make or anything i try to download will just not work to haul scrap. The scrap blocks are FAR TOO HEAVY. Tell me this how is a small cannon scrap piece A HUGE ball on an island that is impossible to haul over water because it sinks everything. The block magnets are dont help either because as soon as i hook the scrap on the magnet the whole vehicle goes into a wild spin.

A larger vehicle will be easier to manipulate heavy salvage with, more wide and stable frame.
If it doesn't float just add more pontoons, or you could try using a helicopter or gimbal plane to lift it into the air but this takes a lot of power.

You can always build bigger and heavier (or floatier) than the salvage, just remember power is the key to success. Find more power cores or other parts and come back to difficult salvage later.

It's suposed to be challenging. If a scrap is too challenging just let it be and move to more simple one.

The more piece you unlock the more easy those will become. The more power core you unlock the easier it will become too. The large scrap can be moved by using wheel that have more grip and using weight to add more grip to your car. You can also use thruster that point toward the ground. It add so much grip to your car that you can even drive on almost 90 degree wall allowing you to get to high places and push scrap down. The magnet can also be combined with a hinge to flip large scrap over you car placing them closer to the center of mass making it easier to carry them.

For moving large piece over water I found that the submarine work best. Just bring the piece to shallow water with it and taker over from there with a car or boat. Piece around lava can be moved using an hovercraft.

Basically the scrap is organised to give a sort of progress curve to lock more complex piece behind harder challenge. Some piece will only be easily salvageable once you unlock lower tier one.

The start of the game is way too hard, there isnt enough easy scrap to get started.

Everything that you need to progress further and explorer further is in the beginning of the game. Just keep an eye out, you will find it. Don't be afraid to build and explore, Just because they give you something at the beginning in the tutorial doesn't mean it has to stay that way

Stop using multiple magnets and that wont happen.

Use creativity? There are many ways and strategies you could use to get the heaviest blocks.

oh really?

I had inspiration from the dock freight loaders and haulers you see on the coast, not sure what they're called, they load and unload the cargo ships. All you really need are the magnets and monster truck wheels. This hauls anything btw

Honestly dude, there's a slightly annoying but also VERY nice workaround to transport scrap.

First, after you unlock pontoons and underwater propellers I want you to go to the small cluster of tropical islands off of the starting islands, then grab the magnet from the island with the checkpoint thing. After that you head left from where you got on the main island and on one of the islands there is a diving bell, grab that.

Then, what you want to do (once you have enough power cores, 13 worked for me) is build a car with a few empty spaces that you can put underwater propellers in, 2-4 works just fine, then what you want to do is use engines, mini thrusters and raw engines will be the best here as mini thrusters are apparently OP and they allow you to ACCELERATE uphill at I think any cliff that's less than 80 degrees. doing all of this will allow you to drive underwater for transporting scrap anywhere

Why DRIVE underwater

Water and air have a lot in common
aerodynamics are the same in function, water is simply more dense
so essentially you aren't making a plane but rather a simple car which requires no lift
this means that if there is some light or cubed scrap you'll be able to transport it freely.

And if using two raw engines and 4 mini thrusters you'll easily exceed 110 kph given a little bit of space (unlock tailfins though, you'll thank me when you don't spin out.)

All of this combined gives you over water functionality as you can accelerate up cliffs AND be able to transport scrap underwater as you please.

Just note that you may want to invest power cores in propellers once you're finished designing what I've made

But flying on the other hand... I have no ideas.

but use my design and you'll be a-okay (except for heavier scrap, that'll always be annoying)

i've experienced the spinning issue, it happened to me because i had 2 magnets side by side that ended up competing with the power core that i picked up, it caused my hover craft to spin uncontrollably, so you'd either use just one magnet or power it on and off and hope it grabs it properly.

For the biggest cores, i've had great success with a wide car with bigfoot wheels and lots of engines, i have a tray of sorts at the front, with 2 or 3 pistons pointing forward with the magnet at the end to pull the core onto the front of the car, you'll need plenty of weight on the rear for this to work, i also had 2 pincers of sorts by using pistons to come in from the sides under the core to keep it in place. worked really well for me.

It's just a challenge and you need patience and technical creativity to complete the campaign. Besides, you can always ask friends with better vehicles to help you out! That's actually the best thing in this campaign that you can do it in multiplayer!

Hey mate try making a heavy vehicle (use Weight Blocks) and a wide Wheel base. I made a "U" shaped vehicle for the really big pieces with some slops so I basically ram into it and it jumps aboard my horse shoe truck!

I ended up using this for the cannon. Not on the workshop, but it's simple enough to make something similar. For the bigger bits of scrap, bigger machines with more power are usually needed.

1- I believe that the scrap pieces aren't too heavy; They give us a challenge. It required me to think of a way to make bigger, better, and more efficient vehicles within the limit of parts and power cores. I think it taught me a lot about the game, and there's still more to learn.

2- That glitch you mentioned; I think that may be 2 electromagnets fighting over the same scrap. The game doesn't know what to do so it pulls the scrap towards the unused magnet, and since the vehicle is technically attached to the scrap, the insane torque of the electromagnet is enough to move your vehicle.
And if this true, then one electromagnet is enough to carry one scrap at max, and at minimum. I have done no testing but i will in the future.
