Trailmakers

20 fps in trailmakers on a decent pc?????
I have a NVIDIA GEFORCE MX250 ( not great i admit), and i made sure the game was running on in the nvidia control panel. I also have 16gb of ram and a 10th gen i7 ( i think 1.5gHz) but sometimes when i play trailmakers takes up 96% gpu. On the other hand sometimes when i play i can be listening to my teacher talking on microsoft teams, have youtube open and still be able to play the game at max res at about 60fps........ WHY???
Just so you know what my pc can do, it can run csgo at max settings, max res (1080p) at 60fps.
Please help because sometimes even with no apps open, playing at the lowest res possible gives me 20 or less fps and the game still takes up 90% or more gpu

That's not a decent, that's entry gaming laptop, however you are lagging, because that's a laptop and by default , it's using it's Intel HD. You need to go to ur Nvidia settings, program setting, add trailmakers to the list and assign "Nvidia MX250" as renderer

Let me give you screenshot to do that.

I had already done that when i installed the game :'( I've also reinstalled and restarted my pc, made sure my drivers are up to date but the game is now consistently running at 15 fps... menu is running at 60fps tho. Also, yesterday was just fine so I don't know whats happening?? But thanks for helping!!

This is right

Try using my settings here (fullscreen exclusive window, disable motion blur)
especially GPU driven rendering

Lower/Raise settings up based on your world fps
BTW CSGO is very low in requirement, benchmarking againsts Trailmakers which has higher requirement is a big joke.

I'm getting constant 60 fps here on that setting, next time try to check minimum requirement before buying a game

MINIMUM:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system OS: Windows 7 64 Bit Processor: i5-4440 (3.1 GHz quad-core) Memory: 8 GB RAM Graphics: GTX 660 DirectX: Version 11

Your specification is far under minimum requirement
Required: GTX 660 (6th gen gaming card)
Yours: MX250 (10th gen portable multimedia card)
Benchmark comparison: https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-660-vs-Nvidia-GeForce-MX250/2162vsm762458

You should also check your CPU too before buying.
I could bet that the 10th gen i7 is a U variant (Ultra low consumption), designed for "offices" and not gaming, you are lucky to able to run games on that specification without overheating.

Not game fault, the game is not ♥♥♥♥, your laptop is not even decent enough to play this, sorry to slap a sad fact but truth does hurt

Probably either you are overheating now (which you didn't previously) or you need to update stuffs which this game requires. Such as graphic driver
