1x2 Block Location?

I've done a lot of the campaign, I have planes and hovercrafts and submarines, but I still don't have the 1x2 block. This is absolutely killing me because I have to replace every workshop machine with some random streamlined block and it limits building a TON. If anyone can tell me where this is or why I haven't found it that'd be great.

(I've heard it's near the beginning spawn but I looked everywhere and could'nt find it?)
