It isn't a block limit per se, as each block has a hidden CPU Complexity cost, for example if you use a lot of tires you will reach the limit easily, where as standard 2x4 blocks you'll be able to use a lot of. A general rule of thumb is that the more a part does, in terms of movement and physics calculations, the higher CPU Complexity cost it has.
I'll add the suggestion to remove/increase the limit to our public Trello[trello.com] where people can vote on things they want to see in the game!
We don't have plans to officially increase this limit further, though we expect once we launch mod support, people will make mods that allow people to build beyond the current limits. :)
We don't feel our time is well spent implementing this as an official feature, since we know the outcome when you start going above the limit we've already set, and we don't feel having a big disclaimer in a brand new game you've just bought saying "THE GAME IS UNSTABLE BEYOND THIS POINT" is something appealing. Whereas unexpected behaviour when using mods, is a little more expected from a user viewpoint, we feel. :)
Is there a way to manually increase the PCU limit by editing the game files for yourself.
