Trailmakers
Sandbox Mode ????
I just played Trailmakers for the first time and started instantly with the sandbox mode to try out all the workshop vehicles i spent hours downloading and what the F*** must I find out: you can't test nearly every vehicle because of "locked blocks" meaning I'll have to play to get ALL OF THEM !!!
I would instantly refund If I still could but I bought the game with the last sale. This is not a Sandbox mode I never heard of any game where you have to unlock blocks in a creativ/sandbox mode. The Sandbox mode is for NOT HAVING TO SPENT COUNTLESS HOURS GRINDING TO UNLOCK THINGS. I bought this game for trying out workshop stuff and building my own things not for grinding. I'm rather upset and I WILL GIVE YOU A NEGATIVE REVIEW if this stay this way. If you want to keep your "sandbox" mode then at least add another mode called "Creativ Mode" where EVERYTHING is unlocked from the beginning. Problem solved. I'm out ...

By the way: I don't get how to use the "workshop" section of the buidling menu, I clicked load vehicle from workshop then I select the desired one just to get the possibilty to vote on it and I don't get how I get it then ?!?! Explenation please ...
It's misleading, yes. But once all is unlocked, no restrictions for you.

You should be able to use those creations you just can't edit them.

You have every single building block unlocked, blocks that you don't have are cosmetics and those don't add anything but looks to your vehicle

This doesn't make sense for a sandbox mode

Although the OP should take the time to write his post out better; at the core, I agree with what he's saying.

I too expect Sandbox mode to mean exactly that, a mode in which you can screw around with everything that' in the game as you see fit. If others are looking for progression, that's fine, and there should be a mode for that, but simultaneously, many of us, myself included, don't need or want to be guided on a path in a creative building type of game.

I like to just jump in, figure out everything as I go and make some cool stuff. I too learned the hard way that Sandbox wasn't Sandbox mode. The cosmetics consist of like half of the pieces in the game, they are equally important to getting something to look the way you want it to. Initially I proceeded and unlocked some things here and there and made do with what I had, but I haven't played yet since the Rally update, but now that I have I've come to learn that my sandbox progress is gone and everythings locked again..... That does not make sense for this kind of mode.

There needs to be a genuine sandbox mode added in ASAP. It wouldn't take much, basically the exact same mode and map, just unlock EVERYTHING for the player(s). I would play MUCH more often if this was in the game.

Absolutely. And there would be another possibility to do this if you don't want to make it too easy to enter sandbox / creative mode you could add this mode as a free dlc (seen in Islet Online) because the ones who really like to get all the stuff unlocked just need to download and the others can unlock their stuff ....

I personally disagree with this statement. The sandbox is a sandbox with all the blocks open and up for use. The cosmetics are a +. And they should remain a +. They are not needed in anycase and even not having them will not stop you from being able to try out stuff with them since you can still use the creation.

I personally have never even used the cosmetics even though I have them all. I just don't find them necessary to build nice things. For me they're just a nice to have for that one moment in a thousand when I feel like one is suitable.

If you think you're being restricted by not having them don't. They are literally just a +. And I don't think you were here when half of them didn't even exist. Besides due to the new purchasing system if you were to not want to play the rally mode and get them all. You can just get the one that you need on a certain instance.

Also "NOT HAVING TO SPENT COUNTLESS HOURS GRINDING TO UNLOCK THINGS" this was fixed in the new rally update. Now you don't need to spend countless hours to unlock them all. Be happy coz I doubt you know the pain of having to do that in expedition just for that last flag or exhaust.

You don't got the point....
Why then not make a creative mode dlc so everyone would be happy ? For me it doesn't matter if these locked blocks are so called "cosmetics" I WANT EVERYTHING in Sandbox, therefor its called sandbox. I eventually paid for it, if you don't agree then okay nobody will force you to download this dlc or to play this mode, but why do you want to ruin the fun for others who want ALL and this ASAP. You don't like it ?`Okay then leave it....

You see that will never be possible due to the blocks being essentially just a plus awarded for the work that you put into the game. You essentially have all the building blocks unlocked in sandbox. Perfectly enough to build whatever you need to build except for lights which I agree are a grey area. Think of the cosmetics more as CS:GO skins you will not benefit a single bit from them. Most are essentially just skins for the normal blocks. E.g exhausts can all be made with pipes, the intakes are just 2x1 wedges or normal blocks, the hood is just two 1x4 wedges. Besides a lot of the asthetics are rewards for stuff like winning the weekly challenge or reporting a major bug and the rest of them are rewards for playing the rally, doing the races, doing the daily challenges. Making a dlc with them all open will make them worthless. I will change my opinion and personally travel to Denmark again to tell the devs to make the creative dlc when CS:GO adds a dlc where all the skins are unlocked.

I think it's nice to have aesthetic blocks that you have to work for so there is more to and it doesn't say anywhere anywhere that it's creative

Exactly it's NOT a creative mode. This isn't Minecraft and it says no where that it's a full creative all blocks and aesthetics unlocked game.

Just NO !!!, The "cosmetics" in CS:GO are just annoying nobody seriously likes them, thats just moneygrabbing.

Because it will straight up remove any value that they have encouraging people to actually play the game, enter the weekly challenges, report bugs etc.

You can't just walk upto a competition and demand for you to get the trophy because you don't feel like competing.

But I see what kinda gamer you are now and have tried my best at reasoning. So I won't be coming back to this topic again. Just wanted to say my opinion and that there is smaller chance of this happening than for there being SGMs on Mars.
