Late Shift is a FMV game, where you making choices which changes the movie you watching.

This is one of the few FMV game which you can take a little bit more serious then the other ones. It doesn't play differently, but the acting, the story and how this game got produced is worth it.

One of my main issue with it is the lack of skipping scenes which I already saw. The game has 7 different endings and all kinds of alternatives, however in order to get through them you would need to rewatch the whole thing, which just tedious.

For a quick fun it's still more than good enough, especially if you interested in FMV games. I can definietly recommend to give it a try, but it doesn't worth 14.8€, it's more like 7 - 6€.

Recommended, but just barely.

The first play-through was *amazing*. I made decisions I would have made, and things made sense, and it was great. I got this game for free, and it's totally worth it for free, or even for a few bucks.

It was like watching a pretty decent movie. Acting is great, lighting and voice

The second play-through was an abysmal sh*t-show. I made decisions that drove the story towards a specific outcome... but not only did they not have any effect, Matt's actions made zero sense in their context.

I fought the thieves every step of the way, and told them to f*** themselves repeatedly, beyond all reason. At no point did it make sense for them to bring him in the first place. At no point did it make sense for Matt to do anything but leave May in every situation he didn't leave her in. At no point during police interrogations did it make sense for Matt to fail to mention the numerous people who have seen him - from the girl at the car park seeing the armed assailant to the people at the auction being told he's a nutter. I understand that tracking all those choices and making unique video content for them is hard... but then making them choices in the first place is pointless.

Additional cons:
* The game doesn't actually pause to let you make choices. Probably makes sense thematically, but is still an irritating mechanic because I outright missed some of the prompts. There is no option to control this.
* I don't know if the game will save if I exit halfway through a run, but nothing indicates that it will. I have limited time to play, and this is extremely irritating.
* You can't resume a run from a specific decision point. You want to do everything exactly the same except that one thing you wanted to try differently? Play the entire thing again from scratch, please!
* When you arrive at the heist, the English subtitles don't exactly match the English voiceover.

If you ever feel like punching your monitor, this game is perfect for you. There is no skip option so you have to listen to the same lines multiple times for perfect achievement. I am pretty mad right now and i hope you also buy this game and go through the same suffering like me.

Decent graphics

Not as much of a game as just a movie, but still entertaining to play once or twice. Could really use a skip button to make replays more worth it. I would hunt all the achievements down without guides but I'm not watching the same movie 8 times and go through trial and error.

I used to constantly see this game in my recommended feed on the Steam store. Finally gave it a shot and I had a lot of fun trying to uncover the different endings. Interesting characters, quality production, good acting, and really solid layers of depth towards the plot. Kinda annoying that you can't skip the cutscenes when you run it back, but even through the re-watches I still found myself intrigued and thinking about what the new outcomes may be. I wish more studios created FMV titles like this. 8.5/10
