Denuvo does nothing to your PC!
What's a disclaimer?
"Again, we can neither confirm nor deny Denuvo DRM affects PC game performance, but the results are what they are. What do you make of them? And have you noticed any sure-fire times when Denuvo has affect your PC gaming performance? Let us know!"
So...if you are unsure about it, then it's full of buckets of salt to take? I wouldn't call this link proof, more like something that is unsure whether or not to take other factors in mind.
And yes, dumb, because some threads end up becoming a game of throwing insults at one another.
The delay likely was soely due to Sega last minute asking them to add Denuvo DRM to the game.
The delay was purposefully made 2 weeks, alongside giving us Sonic 1 for free, so that we can't get refunds after we found out they added DRM without ever addressing it before release.
They utilized a loophole in the refund policy in order to stop customers from fighting back.
Bad reviews are the literal ONLY way to combat shady buisness practices on Steam, since Steam allows any scam game or false advertising anti-consumer practice that they recieve.
The game's a 20$ passion project from fans turned developers.
Sega put their grubby little fingers into the game, that's only 20$.
In modern Steam (Aka the monopoly on PC gaming) there's a ♥♥♥♥ load of awful unfinished games. Companies implementing ANY secondary DRM are ONLY doing it because unlike consoles, we ALWAYS have a choice for gaming, even if we don't have any money, and especially if we don't want to support a company. Console player's ONLY voice is not buying a game, and usually that's when everyone realizes they were ripped off/Lied to.
Of course PC players are going to pirate games, not because they play on PC, but because we actually have an option. Gaming today is worse than it's ever been, at least since the video game crash.
On the other hand, it's people who weren't going to buy the game anyways, and now have even less of a reason to than before. At least then they could justify a purchase when they see it's good/realize the price is only 20$ for the value you recieve.
You just answered the earlier statement that can be taken as contradicting. Of course I would take the option free when I can, who wouldn't? And no, gaming is not worse or better, if you only look at the big games it's worse that's for sure. If you look at the few indie games worth caring about and all the other mods for older games, it's pretty much enough to play for your whole life, especially when I don't have as much time to play these days.
If people weren't going to buy the game anyways, they weren't going to at all. One thing to do with writing English essays is staying consistent you know. Pretty much the exact reason why discussing game piracy is a lose lose, because human beings don't always think the same and again, games are not morality, people don't care.
I have not stated being for or against Denuvo, but really, it's a massive flip flop is inconsistency with all the claims and myths out there.
Then because of people like yourself they'll come up with another DRM. You're really not doing yourself or us any favours at all, you think you are but really you're not.
Brief FYI, you need to have bought the game to write a Steam review.
Edit: If the 2,000 people who have rated some reviews were all non-owners and they wrote reviews, the game would be rated at between 35% to 50% positive right now.
While we're on the subject, presently about 20% of the written reviews are from people who bought the game on sites other than Steam. They can still write Steam reviews, but they're not factored into the review score. These reviews average 66%, and if they had been included the game would presently be 70% rather than 71%.
As a reminder, 70% is the threshhold for the "Mostly Positive" rating. Below that is "Mixed" (with a yellow name) so this controversy is coming dangerously close to significantly impacting the game's rating.
Anti-Denuvo: Denuvo is ♥♥♥♥, it does all this ♥♥♥♥ to your games! (Provides source sometimes such as above) It's anti-consumer!
Pro-Denuvo: Grow up you whiny babies!
Guess people can't go five seconds after starting off well without insulting.
