on the other hand, evidence from korea shows that they probably won't be and instead will be earned by training a tier 8 horse with certain skills into a tier 9.
If you think about how the marketplace is setup as such, you get much more benefits to using materials yourself for crafting/enchanting.
The game is a business and their goal is to keep players playing. Make things too easily available through the cash shop, and you alienate some players and reduce player retention by trading a end-game goal for short-term cash.
OP must be drunk....
Firstly you don't get EXP from questing, I hope you actually realised that. So if you're wasting your time running from quest to quest then THAT is whats slowing you down. Take 2 minutes and google how to level up. Then you'll soon realise that if you spend more time actually killing mobs (instead of running around on a horse doing quests) you'll atcually make progress.
Secondly I don't know where you dreamt up these horse lord mafia guilds that are controlling the market but yeah you should probably see somebody about that. Maybe you're not entirely crazy and read an old thread and thus made a stupid post but yeah the new system makes it incredibly difficult to sell horse to friends now.
The system as you put it is RNG. When somebody posts a T8 horse it pops up in big text announcing to everyone in game that "hey a T8 was registered" that horse is now in a QUE, in 10 minutes from that announcement it will be on the horse market. If only there was some way we'd know what time that was?! Like if we could look at a clock or just turn on timestamps in-game, then we'd have an equal chance at buying a horse then some dudes friend! Oh wait, we can do that.... rightttttt yeah! Soooooo, if you are lucky/fast you get to buy a horse.
I bought one, my boyfriend bought one, many of my guildies have bought one. They're being posted literally all day. You don't have to join some secret horse society or sell your first born child in some shady deal. You literally just go to the market and click buy faster then someone else. That or you can just ya know breed one like the horse mafia do. Wait I bred one the other week, am I part of the breeder illuminati now?! Dun dun dunnnnnn!
Google BDO horse taming calculator, buy some horses, breed horses, make gains. Play the game! Thats what most of us did ya know. Hell you can even level horses AFK/overnight using the "auto loop" system. (Google that too btw.)
On release the highest tier horse in the game was T6, and you could only find maximum T2 in the wild. So yeah, none of us were leveling up with a T8. And even if I pretended that having a T8 made some kind of meaningful impact on leveling speed where it actually matters (50+), you really do not need anymore help levelling up faster, since you can hit 50 in a few of hours play if you actually know what you're doing.
Thirdly just because you get a T8 does not mean its good. There are tons of terrible T8's that did not learn the best skills, so are slower then a t5/6 with the best skills. very few people sell horses with perfect skills because surprise its RNG and incredibly difficult to get. RNG means random. No elite breeder badge required. If you're unlucky and get a bad T8 I guess you can throw your $70 at the game and buy a ton of horse skill change coupons. Some more RNG on top of your RNG. Thats how Kaokao make money btw, with more RNG, not by collapsing an entire market and giving everyone the keys to get to end-horse-game instantly.
All jokes aside. True, if you can run to your grind spot a couple of minutes faster then you do get to grind a couple of minutes longer. That or you know you could just ragequit because you're so frustrated that you don't have the best horse in the game in your first few weeks playing...
So like, maybe 1% of the playerbase? See the thing is, if T8 horse become buyable for ~$70 then people aren't gonna stop breeding horses, and the market isn't gonna be flooded with 100+ pages of T8 horses. The complaints would be largely unfounded. Like really, how many % of the players would buy a horse for $70 if it would be possible? Please use your brain man...
It's the same with buying weight/inventory increase from the pearl shop; you don't HAVE TO buy it, it's just a luxury option for people who aren't poor irl and find the $ spent vs time saved favourable enough to buy into that. As said, the current horse system is stupid because there is almost no point in having a fast horse by the time that you obtain one through the current methods. In other words, something needs to be reworked here; and my suggestion of being able to buy one with $ should be included in that rework.
@Sadie: REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. I want to do quests because of the rewards that they offer me, kay? No one said anything about exp. And no ♥♥♥♥ I could start breeding horses, the thing is that it takes 1 month+ and as a Steam player I'm already WAYYYY behind day 1 players.
Who the ♥♥♥♥ does quests? The only quest you NEED to do is the ones up to Velia and the level 50 quest, which you automatically get once you hit level 49.
But seriously, go east, there's quite a few spots where you'll see nobody and a tier 4-5 horse sitting around.
After that it's just leveling them up then breeding them 1 by 1..
Sweet this dude answered for me! But yeah "quests", "rewards", "WAYYY behind." This made me laugh. I still don't think you get it Dan. The reason you're way behind is BECAUSE youre questing lol.
This is what I meant when I said you clearly don't have a clue what you're talking about. You do not understand the playerbase in general. Why would you though, you've been playing the game 10 minutes.
I mean how many people straight up wasted $100 on the base game package which is now in a $50 package and still not worth it imo. Hell my guild leader spent £50 yesterday on a store bundle for JUST a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hedgehog. Thats all he wanted, the pet. Sure its a super cute hedgehog with an OP skill but still, a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ T1 hedgehog. Another friend, a casual life-skiller that doesn't even grind, that spent €200 in one day on exchanging pets. That was back near release, god knows how much he's spent by now. Another friend that has 10 characters/alts all with a costume, maximum weight limit and inventory slots?! Do you know how much ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ money that is, dear lord, and he doesn't even play the game!!! Just spent a few days leveling each of those characters to 56 and stopped playing.
Hell lets check how much i've spent in the last year, £350 on store purchases, which is equivalent to like 3 years wow subscription. My boyfriend around the same. An I would say that I haven't made any of those sort of outlandish purchases that some of my friends have made. Here's a small sample size though from the forums to show that im not just some random outlier:
http://forum.blackdesertonline.com/index.php?/topic/138767-how-much-have-you-spent/
So don't be so naive for a second to think that nobody is going to actually buy this overpriced pony, because Kaokao are already milking some serious ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ money here in there ridiculously overpriced cash-shop.
But thats neither here nor there because what it comes down to is that you have no clue what percentage of players would purchase this. Or what percentage of players would quit the game because of it. Why would you have any idea though. You don't work for the company, you have no access to statistics. You've been playing for no time at all. You have no clue or care of the impact or ramifications such an addition might create and when this is suggested to you, you just blindy shrug it off or ignore it. And respond with "REEEE I don't want to breed my horse and I can't buy it from the marketplace."
Im not saying your input is useless (except I am saying that, in this case.) There are many aspects of the game that new player feedback could and will drastically help. But yeah "add this to the store so I don't have to play for a month" is probably not one of those cases. Hence the drought of responses agreeing with you.
Like everybody else that has actually played the game said. There'd be outroar from horse breeders because now there hard-work/hours skippable, because now there market is being flooded, because now they may feel pressured to buy T8's instead of actually playing the game and breeding them themselves. And before you reply with yet again some clueless drivel like "why would horse breeders buy it!?" Believe it or not because the horse breeders are the ones pouring money into horse related items, like: breeding resets, skill changes, appearance changes, brand stones, breed wait time acceleration, skill level training. All to make money and/or get the best horse that they can. And in one foul swoop you just removed there goals, the reason they're playing and enjoying the game.
The same as if you added boss loot to the cash-shop. The same as if you added profession level ups to the cash-shop. Everyone is playing the game for different reasons, because we all enjoy different things. Whilst I might not be interested in spending my time breeding horses, there sure as hell are plenty of people that do. So un-suprisingly Kaokao aren't in a hurry to spoil that for them with a cash-shop skip.
You also overlook how many P2W fans would jump on this, because priced at $70 you just created the best cash to silver conversion in the game. With breeding resets on top of that, even with T7's you could make an insane amount of silver compared to buying and selling costumes etc. You only have to look at the marketplace pearl tab to get an idea of how many people are willing to P2W even at these prices. I would pressume that you're one of them.
On top of all of this we have upcoming "horse content." A T9 Pegasus, that REQUIRES you to have a T8 in order to even attempt to get it. So I wonder how popular that cash shop horse would be.
I feel like im just repeating myself now though, but you clearly just don't understand or flat out just don't care. You're new to the game. You don't know the games mechanics. You don't know the games economy. You don't know the playerbase. You ask for another means to P2W. Im just not sure what kind of response you actually expected here? ...
But sigh I've wasted too much time responding to this crap. I should of just responded like everyone else with, LUL NO!
350?? Lmao I've got way over a grand into this game... I'm an outfit screenshot nerd.
As for the OP, I've got about a year into this game and bred out one T7... granted she is a female and has two-seater, but it takes a while to get a T8. About four of my guild members are always in the top 25 and top 10 for horse training because they are always breeding horses. They still jump for joy when the finally score a T8!
Kill mobs, level, make money and just breed them. It's not complicated.
