Short answer: yes, via a glitch.
Long answer: Even if you both manage to escape, the game only registers one person leaving, thus there is no official "secret ending" where both players escape. HOWEVER, my friend and I discovered a bug where if you both crouch together by the right side of the gate (sort of against the wall) and both of you just SPAM the jump, both players will start to fly upwards and you can actually both get over the gate via this glitch. It takes a little trial and error, but it was not too difficult.

My friend and I decided that the inability to escape is gameplay, not narrative: There's plenty of space to squeeze through those bars. Just need to take the coat off and pass it through the gap, endure a minute of cold as you squeeze through to follow and then get dressed again.
