Which role is less scary?
I really wanna play this game, but I'm a HUGE scaredy-cat.I hate horror games, but I love the co-op puzzle aspect of We Were Here. So that's why I'd like to ask, which role is scarier to play? Is there any chance someone like me could play it? I don't mind spoilers scary-stuff-wise! (I already know about that one thing during the chess puzzle...) Please help!

As far as I've seen (from a video, haven't played it yet) it's not reallu horror. But the role of the traveler finds the problems and the librarian solves them. Technically the Librarian is "less stressful" as long as the person you're playing with isn't that fond on yelling to get things across.

Sorry, I unfortunately do already have a partner to play with! I was only asking about the roles!

Thank you for your answer, unfortunately I will need a bit more specific answer than that. And as far as I know, the librarian actually has to deal with scarier stuff?

I think the Traveler is less scary.

Its not really a horror game. Could be a little creepy, most of all the last part before the game ends, but nothing in this game scared me. I played as the librarian so i had to be the one facing the more creepy stuff. I don't think this game will scare you. It's a real fun game, and i just finished it with a friend.

The librarian's part is the scariest because you are trapped in a theater with a creepy thing coming towards you little by little. If you're the explorer you don't have anything creepy, just time-sensitive/stressful stuff

My friend played the Explorer part and I was the librarian. Haven't finished it but so far, I think the explorer has the scarier part.

But haven't gone on to that Theater though.

The librarian role is not scary at all until the final stage where the librarian becomes the explorer and there is something creepy in the room with you that acts as a timer. If you look the other way the whole time the game doesn't force you to look at it.
The explorer role has creepy noises on certain stages and gets proactively creepy when you go to a dungeon stage you have to walk around. You see shadows of people running about, and a few crawling on the floor which are slightly startling the first time you see them but they don't interact with you or cause you to game-over.
There are no jump-scares at all in the game.

I appreciate this thread giving me a heads up about the creepy parts beforehand! I've now played it from both ends and turned the music off (its creepiness kept me on edge) and the sound effects 75% down, so I could hear the important signaling sounds while ignoring the creepy ones. The librarian has very few creepy noises outside of the music, though.
Beat pretty much highlighted everything else there is above (thank you!).
