How to "clear my mind" [Answer]

I'm a fan of quirky games and this one started out to be rather relaxing and interesting. However, I'm now in some sort of space-garbage, musical instrument, etc. level and the game will not let me exit. It tells me I need to "clear my mind". Other forum comments say to enter memory with "m" and then hold the "c" key -- that does nothing for me unless one is supposed to hold it an hour or more. Frustrated at this point, does anyone know of a way out besides just starting a new game?

Edit: I was able to become a planet and was then able to descend. Now I'm in an area with an odd mixture of children's toys, floating letters, etc. The game tells me I should hold "e" to transform but that does nothing either -- it worked at one time. I can apparently "ascend" but I really don't want to return to the previous area.

Second edit: I descended again and finally I found one of the special dialog "memory" symbols. When I pressed "x" to play it, it told me about clearing my mind as described above -- the game actually did it for me. Still, the experience was frustrating.

Final edit: [Possible spoiler] It turns out I was still in the tutorial?? When I finally escaped there was a nice theatric-like tour and I then got the message that I'd completed the tutorial. Well, I did start out saying I liked quirky games!
