What the hell is up with the animals tumbling?

The animals don't walk, they tumble around. Is this seriously how the game will play? Cause that looks pretty stupid.

I think people are way over hyping this game. Not that I'm seeing it everywhere, but that they're thinking it's going to be some big huge experience. Reminds me of Spore.

I am playing it on PS4 right now, and mammals tend to do the roll/tumble. Some creatures do a wobble/skitter, but usually only the bugs or reptiles. While it weirded me out at first, the more you play it, the more it feels like it makes sense. Although, I kind of thought it was funny, my husband seemed downright annoyed by it. So maybe I'm the exception to the norm, but I am fine with the movements in the game.

Fired it up on ps4 yesterday. I got mixed feelings with it. The movements is a bit disturbing and by gaming standards it doesnt feel like a game at all. So far you go around and be anything and look at things in the eyes of who you currently control. One moment I was in the woods as a brown bear, became a blade of grass, a gecko, a snail then some pollen and parasitic tick. Then I wandered and became a carbon atom, next thing I knew I was some geometric shape in some dimemsion. I ascended back to being an oxygen atom then became a quarter rolling in a pavement then became a factory, a whole island/continent then the planet itself, the sun, and the universe.

It is a weird experience. You got no goals, you read the thoughts of other beings and collect it whilst treated to audio from a lecture from 1965 talking about existense or something of the sort (need to relisten to collected audio).

Do I recommend it? I can't say much. I need to sink more time in to it. I must say that it really piqued my interest and triggered an impulse buy. Will I regret it? Only time will tell. My only wish is for the devs, if they haven't done it yet, is to add as many items as possible. So it can truly try and encompass everything.

It reminds me of Garry's mod (drive mod on entities or disguise addons tool (not the one from prop hunt)) where you can do the same stuff :)

I wouldn't say there are NO goals... a completionist gamer like myself wants to try to eventually be everything... And there are trophies to collect, and audio clips from Alan Watts. Definitely plenty of objectives that I currently have.

I think it embraces the true strangeness that is reality. Even though this game is strange, reality is stranger than fiction my friend. But even though that is true of reality, what humans have come to experience is strange indeed, however, the unknown is perhaps the strangest of all. This is because fiction is an interpretation of the unknown in a way. In the 70's when star wars hit movie screens across the world, holograms were simply that, fiction. But humans have developed holograms in recent years. What was once fiction, became reality. And perhaps one day deer will roll across the plains and prairies of the country side. It can very well be possible one day. But for now, it shall remain fiction.


(I'm taking this seriously now, it adds a comedic feel to the game. It blends deep thought with a bit of humor)

That put it perfectly, thanks. That's just how people feel when they're trying to defend the game, and then the response from the other horses is dead on how I feel about it even still.

I own the game on PS4. Not everything tumbles, but I wish everything did tumble, becuase on those occasions where you're an airliner flying normally through the sky it all feels so very wrong.
