Can't even start the game? Stuck on Name screen!

The game first tells me that it can't synchronize the Steam Achievements- that's fine, whatever, I don't really care about those things anyway, so I continue without them.

Then the screen goes black and white text appears and says "This game belongs to-" and a place to enter my name. I enter my name, a lovely name, I assure you, and hit enter and-

Nothing happens. I hit enter again. Nothing happens. Music keeps playing, so I just figure it's loading. The music eventually runs out, so I quit, restart, get stuck again- when I hit backspace and realize it's still running. I type in my name, hit enter. Nothing. I hit the down arrow, I press "E", I press escape- I hit the down arrow on the key pad, I throw in a bunch of numbers (which just adds to my name).

I literally cannot start this game- I've verified the integrity of the game cache, I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it- Nothing seems to work.

Any help?

exactly the same thing happened to me... let me know if someone figures out if were all stupid or whether the game is actually broken

I think the games is cooked it's doing same in PS4

happens the same to me... First it says that cannot synchronize with steam achievements, and if i press 'continue without' it stucks in the name entering screen.

Ok, I think you'll just need to restart Steam. Maybe that will solve it like with me.

Having exactly the same problem... really want to play the game...

Ok, it fixed itself for me by Alt+F5ing the game, exitting Stem then reentering it and opening the Game, inputting the name and hitting enter. It works for me now

I have tried this numerous times and still can't get the game to go past the name screen. I have reinstalled the game, and restarted Steam and the game many times. I'm running macOS Mojave 10.14. Any other solutions that might work. The game also is unable sync achievements on the previous screen. Thanks for any help.

Another stinker. elk just rolls around when i try to move.
