Why does World have such a small roster?
I get that making monsters for a console or pc can be tricky yes but the fact is GU got a massive roster of monsters and they had to likely to through the same process to make monsters for switch like what they did for pc and the consoles

so why? why is the roster so small and the feeling that in the future we will get very little in the way of new monsters to the roster for world?

As far as I can tell they could recycle assets for GU but not for world. Still disappointing that not only do we have so few new monsters but that almost all the new monsters are pitiful low tier trash like great jagras.

This game has a much newer feel than older MH games. Lots of extra animation work, etc.

While I'm likely going to enjoy the Switch MH game quite a bit, it looks and feels much like the older titles. A lot less work adapting the monsters to work in that game vs MH:W.
GU uses recycled assets, where as World required them to remake pretty much everything from scratch and at a higher fidelity. It takes time to make new models, wire them, code them, code how they react to everything else, and then bug test to see how they work in the game.

Also loads of clones.... thats the downfall of mhw

GU is full of recycled assets world is all fresh.

i dont mind the jagras all that much hell i love the prey and drome monsters from Gen
World has a larger roster than a lot of non G/U variant of previous MH actually, also, GU reuses basically every asset in the history of MH, while everything in MHW has to be recreated.

true but it gives you a massive variety of monsters to fight against which is awesome

This game pushed over 10 million copies lol. There's no way they don't have plans.

They had to build World from scratch. Generations Ultimate is reused assets across various games.

That's basically it.
