Dragons Dogma 2 first
it is time that nintendo is sold to microsoft.
2. Capcom made MH, not Nintendo
3. Nintendo would never sell their company to a western publisher.
Rise did less than half as well as world.
Rise perception and sentiment was much poorer than world
Capcom had a licencing deal with Nintendo they had to honour for another MH title, this appears to have been satisfied by Capcom with Rise.
Nintendo, as a business can be sold to literally anyone at any time. The reason there is less interest in Nintendo from other markets in general is because the platform and its first party studios are generally considered significantly more niche, and consequently as off less value.
They fulfil a market that is significantly smaller than that of mobile, console and PC.
They are essentially working within old school models in a market where mobile gaming is more popular than the Nintendo at a ratio of about 45:1. From a business perspective the value of Nintendo is incredibly low. But don't mistake this for Nintendo not being sold. The moment the it becomes more financially viable to sell, it will be sold.
For many, World was their first MH game.
The game was also sold on multiple platforms at the same time/later date (XBOX and PS4, then PC)
You can play it right now on your phone, it's called "Monster Hunter Now."
Yeah right 🤣, Iceborne is basically part 2
Capcom even said it's not worth using resources or effort to patch the console versions and keep it up to date with the PC/Switch one, releasing new updates up to 3~5 months later on PS/XBox. Most likely they made some intern(s) do the work to get some work experience.
Monster Hunter 6th gen will not repeat the same sh*tty design choices Rise did.
Well, maybe we will get a proper Moveset Swap System which allows weapons to stay unique and not allowing them to do every job at the same time.
Rise is pure cheese. It acts as a good tutorial for harder entries
Why I think world sold better(other than platform exclusivity with staggered ports) is the same reason elden ring was successful.
People like a challenge. They like a game with tons of unexplained layers.
