Layered Armor without Iceborne

I'm planning on getting Iceborne, but until I do I needed something to grind and thought I'd look into what Layered Armor I had access to. I've searched and searched, and I can only find incredibly small lists, inaccurate information, or dismissal of the question altogether.

So I've done a bunch of quests looking for what I could get, and here's my own probably-still-incomplete, but much bigger, list of Layered Armor you can unlock without Iceborne. It's a lot more than I would have thought:

Just to be clear, this is how you get them to show up on the Smithy. Some of them require crafting materials from other places as well, but once you have the armor unlocked it's much easier to look up the required materials.

If my memory serves, the first 8-9 rows of items in LR/HR layered armor list are craftable
without iceborne DLC, so in addition to what you listed you can also craft:
- Bushi sabi/homare (requires bushi tickets that is a chance drop from HR kulve siege)

Iceborne DLC really expanded craftable LR/HR/MR layered armor list so if you're into fashion hunter thing, the DLC is really worth it :-) Have fun grinding for fashion and happy hunting ~

i think the sealed eyepatch comes from a tzitzi or shamos quest, unless i'm thinking of something else. you can see in the quest description usually if a quest gives special stuff. i think 'flash in the pan' might give sunglasses?
i have no idea why these quests specifically i remember.. i don't even like them :s

You're right. It turns out that's the Commission armor though. AT Xeno wasn't just missing from my list, I had somehow missed doing it altogether. :P
