MHW freezes my PC after newest WIN11 update

After my Windows 11 updated to this new version 24H2, I just can't seem to be able to play it again. There were no problems before this update, my game was running smooth as ever. Now though once I get to the loading screen, my pc just kinda freezes. My mouse can move but nothing happens. I don't get any error messages, my pc is just frozen until I force restart it. I really have no idea what is wrong. All my other games run normally but MHW doesn't. Anyone else having the same problem? Let me know if you have any ideas how to fix it.

Try turning DX12 on or off and see if that makes any difference. Open the graphics_option.ini file in World's installation folder with Notepad and change DirectX12Enable=On to DirectX12Enable=Off or vice versa

You can also try changing ScreenMode=Borderless to ScreenMode=Borderless

Eh didn't work, updated bios too, used ddu to clear and install new amd drivers and same issue persists. Probably just windows being trash as always. Ty anyway!

At this point you might as well revert the most recent wupdate and hope they get their shed together by next month. Something similar happened on W10 recently.

my game was stuck at a black screen on launch. after trying to switch to dx11 through the config file it wont boot at all and gives me an application error, even after switching back to dx12. i just switched to newer gpu and the most recent drivers makes the game crash, its officially listed on the amd release notes, rolling back to an older version didn't worked aswell.

its so annoying that i bought a new gpu that can run this game well past 60fps and i cant even try it out until they fix these drivers

Would be more helpful if you put your hardware specs up as well, it could just be Windows 11 being crap but it could also be that your system isn't adequate enough for Windows 11 and running certain games..

Guildmate of mine in one of my MMO's had a similar issue with the game crashing and freezing after updating to Windows 11.
Turns out their PC simply couldn't handle the game anymore due to Windows 11's using up more system resources.. their PC was pretty dated.

If you're running some old PC hardware you could be having the same issue.
Reverting back to your old OS would fix your problem.

Oh btw, the problem has fixed itself now after the newest win11 update and amd update! So all is good now :D
