Can't Beat Fatalis
i spent most of my day trying to beat this thing and i just can't. its CONE attacks are insane. Heck one point i was flying down and it backed ALL the way and it one shot tapped me, like WTF ?. im not Super good but i can take on Altreon pretty well, but when this thing just taps you and takes half your life and throws you from just a tap, i get to thinking this thing wasnt meant to be beaten. i know there people out there that have but must be my luck i just cant. :steamsad:

MR. build and you're augmentation if you have any. if you lack skill compensate it with you're gear.
what weapon ur using?

From the sound of things, you're keeping yourself at a decent distance from it while it is standing that the AI actively wants to spam cone fire. Ironically, many who actually played the game WANT cone fire to happen since it's a major punish window to Fata's head.

Slap in evade extender to roll your way beside its cheeks as soon as you see it rear back and prepare for the move. if you're THAT far away that 2 or 3 rolls with evade extender can't put you in a safe spot then that's sadly on you entirely.

Gonna need to provide some details. What's your MR? What gear are you running? What weapon? What skills do you have? What mantles do you have? Not much to work on to provide any advice.

You can actually survive that cone breath by superman dive twice.

Use defense 5.

Superman dive or use the slinger with the dragon ammo, you can stagger the cone and various attacks and charges with the dragon ammo.

Fatalis is just a really brutal fight to learn, especially if your not looking at guides. Switch around your gear and decorations, and even what food your using to see if it improves your effectiveness at all. The first time I beat Fatalis I was running very heavy fire resist (including the veggie platter meal!) and just sort of face tanking him when I needed to get some heavy damage in.

Many players actually intentionally try to bait Fatalis into doing that big cone because it locks him into a pretty long animation and it puts his head near the floor giving you an opportunity to get in some pretty heavy damage. You just have to learn how to quickly identify that he entering his cone animation and immediately start moving.

There are a lot of little things you can do to make the fight just a bit easier but without more information its difficult to really give good advice.

First thing you have to learn is to stop running around like a chicken and realize the safest place to be is right next to him.

Stop using Mega Potions and craft Max Potions and Dust of Life on the field instead.

Fatty can be a little... challenging in the beginning, but it so worth it.
Below, an easy checklist to see if you're armor and weapons are in the sweet spot for him:

- Are you using R Brachydios weapons?
- Do you have health regen augment on your weapon?
- Are you using R Brachydios armor? 3 pieces?
- Are you using at least 2 pieces of golden rathian armor for "divine blessing" at 5?
- What charm do you have? Challenger at 5 is a lot of help.
- Do you have reinforced your armor to the utmost?
- Have you considered eating for more cart in the hunt?
- Does your Palico use vigorwasp at max level (for resurrection)?
- Are you focusing on destroying Fatalis head (twice) and chest (once)?
- What weapon are you using?
