Massive FPS drop when not touching the keyboard
5600
6700xt
32gb ram - Hyperx Fury

My game drops from 144fps to 20 -35fps if I don't touch the keyboard every 10 minutes. I tried PS5 / Xbox one controller and my mouse too but it seems nothing fixes the fps until I press a key on the keyboard again.

I have the latest windows installed, my drivers are up to date, I'm not using any mods currently, I verified the integrity of the game files. Vsync on / off doesn't make a difference, fps capped at 60/144/unlimited also doesn't fix it. I played for one hour with my task manager on top and I saw no issues with my CPU, Ram etc.

I'm using a Razor keyboard without the Razer software installed, has anyone had this issue before? I suspected the game alt tabbed without me knowing but that was not the case either, windowed / windowed borderless / fullscreen all bring the same result.

The only thing I can think of that might be happening is that your computer is entering a "low power mode" or some other king of power saving mode after 10 mins. Does this occur with other games as well? Does it happen when you change the game from fullscreen > window > etc? Do you have any other keyboards you could plug in as well?

The only times I can keep the fps from dropping is when task manager is running and "always on top" is enabled from the settings.
The issues occurs only in MH World and I'm not doing anything specific to trigger it like changing from fullscreen to window.

Try setting to maximum performance for power management under your gfx control panel

I suggest using some hardware monitoring program like RivaTuner[www.guru3d.com], LibreHardwareMonitor[github.com], or CPUID HWMonitor[www.cpuid.com].

Watch the CPU/GPU load, clock frequency, voltage, and temperature

If the CPU/GPU clock frequency or voltage decrease after 10 minutes, that's some kind of throttling / power saving. It might be only the CPU or GPU, not both.

If the CPU load and temperature increases noticeably after 10 minutes, that suggests there is another program that activates when idle (but incorrectly only checks keyboard for idle). Maybe some backup program, third-party antivirus configured to scan during idle, or crypto miner (your own or malware).

Is it the Task Manager, or any other program having focus?
