Something I am missing about SnS in world
I have alot of hours with SnS in GU and Rise and I would say I am pretty good/decent with it.

Most of my hunting times in world are also good with it but I still feel kinda "clunky" ? anything I should know ? like my nergigante times are somewhere between 9 and 15 minutes which is pretty long, when I swap to IG I just get 6 minutes without any problem.

Is SnS just worse than IG in World ? or harder to pull off, I don't know right now it feels like I just don't get faster or better with SnS and I should just play IG

I do miss the Shoryugeki from both GU and Rise. For World's SnS it's certainly more crunchy, but it can be fast when you factor in the clutch combos. If you aren't using them then you probably just aren't aware of them.

Are you using perfect rush properly? SnS is the third strongest melee weapon, well above ig for speedruns

Where'd you get this info? Currently learning SnS after going back to World. Genuinely curious if I'm learning a neat weapon (damage-wise).

Its strong speedrun wise but not fun, if that makes sense, for speedrun you don't really use the weapon you use tools for 3 minutes and then spam perfect rush 3 times and the fight is over... its not really how anyone would play SnS who likes fun if that makes sense but ya its strong speedrun weapon but you have to cheese alot to make it OP, I guess that playstyle is why I don't like it in world

Look under Freestyle Rankings (TA rankings are not relevant to non-speedrunners)

You didn't ask for the most fun method (which is subjective), but if you were clunky or slow. If you aren't using Perfect Rush in World then you won't get good clear times, simple as that.

ig is wayyyyy easier than sns and its way more fluid. sns is so clunky in this game compared to rise its pathetic. you gotta do that lame roll clutch claw combo thing which is lame due to the aiming/positioning and timing required to pull it off, then you gotta do the backhop to iframe which requires lame clunky button input timing and control stick direction, not to mention the awkward positioning. then you gotta do the lame perfect rush combo cancel loop depending on the monster state and the timing before it stands up. then the perfect rush final hit throws you back 100 feet so u gotta run all the way back anyway and you gotta time the last hit perfectly after a monster stands up or else you waste that massive ko hit on a monster that cant be knocked down yet. then the clunky combo cancel loop with just the sword attacks and using them to chance the direction your facing so you dont stop attacking. sns in this game just makes me cringe. they had to buff perfect rush to insane dmg levels jusut to get anyone to play that cr4p weapon design

You need to use perfect rush more, in rise perfect rush is nerfed and never worth it, in world it's the reverse, it's the strongest attack of sns and always worth it.
Learn the timings of the move and use it from a block into a backhop, that's the fastest way to access it.

Yeah, I happened to see a post about using guard + backhop to transition to perfect rush. Is it always a must to charge attacks? Apart from the shield bashes, there's no other reason to use any other attack then?

If you use cheese, it's going to help with landing all perfect rush attacks and looping them back to back, that is true.
Even without traps and cheese, perfect rush is still way stronger then IG.

Sometimes you won't be able get even a half perfect rush off, so in those moments use the combo with spiral slash.
Basically: use the weaker moves until you get a chance to use perfect rush.

"way stronger" even in the fastest speedruns its like max 30 seconds to 45 seconds difference, all of the doesen't matter to the avarage player.
Some people don't get the head around weapons, for me SnS feels clunky in world and IG will always be just faster for me.

In speedruns 30 sec is alot.
For the average player this will be even more, since they are not as skilled as speedrunners, they can't get the maximum potential out of a weapon, the aka. skill-ceiling.
Perfect rush spam has a low enough skill floor though, that even average players can get alot out of it.
It's like GS in Sunbreak, anyone can use the counter for absurd damage there.

yeah after like 1000's of attempts to get that 30-45 sec difference in the 1 perfect run where the monster does every move you want it to

A "perfect" run is impossible because we are humans.
Even in a failed run with lots of mistakes on both sides(IG and SNS) the sns run will be faster.
It's like this: The sns won't need alot of effort to beat the IG, no matter what, the skill gap needs to be huge for the IG to stand a chance.

Well I am avarage player and I have 300+ hours with SnS and my IG hunts are still faster, again it depends on the player, all weapons are vilable and it depends on which just clicks for you, I just dislike World SnS and IG is just minutes faster for me
