The game is 5 years old and no longer receiving updates. Unfortunately your very good suggestion isn't going to happen in this game. I hear that MH:Rise multiplayer is much better and i assume MH:Wilds will be improved upon that even.
It doesn't take long to reach MR 100. Anything you obtain while getting there will be useful when you finally get there, too.
I will say that the MR rank stuff was a mess in Iceborne though. You needed MR 100 to meet Ruiner Nergigante, but you could fight Alatreon and Fatalis at MR 24? Well done, Capcom! That almost makes me inclined to agree with you and that the Grinding Lands shouldn't even have an MR gate anymore because it makes no sense - although I'd rather they had put some suitable MR requirements on things instead.
Also yeah, your friends can group with you if you host your lower unlocked Grinding Lands, so you're not blocked from playing with your friends - just have them join you until you rank up.
If I wanted to join up with someone in Resident Evil Revelations 2, I can't just join up with end game players on an end game mission on the highest difficulty. I'm only able to join up with people who are playing missions that I've unlocked. End game players are able to join up with earlier players, because they already unlocked the earlier missions. Same goes for Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Bloodborne, Nioh, Borderlands, Path of Exile, Final Fantasy 14, and I could keep on listing games where this has been the norm for forever, but I think by this point, everyone already gets the point and doesn't need me to drill it home any further.
