Make a decent armor set, fully augment it and upgrade it. Then try Alatreon and Fatalis.
Furious Rajang
Raging Brachydios
Safi'jiiva (siege)
MR Kulve Taroth
Alatreon
Fatalis
AT Velkhana
When you're stuck on a monster, go grind GL for augment and upgrade mats. When you're bored of GL, go try the next monster.
For Safi siege, search for lobby with Safi target. It's much faster with multiple groups doing the siege, don't bother soloing it (although technically possible).
Also finish up your optional quests for mantle upgrades, canteen ingredients, botanical research and whatever else
There are certain thresholds the game expects you to meet; certain items it expects you to chug to save time. In other words, most people need a guide.
Some need to learn a new weapon that's more suited to meeting those dps checks. Then again, you could just get lucky and find a group on Discord with fully augmented and min-maxed gear. The rest is a matter of not carting.
You might also wanna look into revising some of your armor skills. Crits in particular work better with the higher base damage in master rank.
In the meantime, work your way through maxing out individual regions in the guiding lands and grind each for a while for their unique mats.
No rush though. For all intents and purposes, you're in the post-game. That's why some of those new monsters are so challenging. It's like fighting super secret optional bosses that are harder than the actual final boss which concludes the story.
good idea to fight all the monsters you still havent fought before
the events have some fun ones, you should definitely try them out, even the low rank events have some unique quests like fighting giant or tiny monsters
might still have some optional quests that unlock things that you should check, also might be good idea to clear optionals of monsters you still need materials from before you start doing investigations etc for them, up to you if you want to clear them all or not but i found that the funnest/easiest way to do it
remember to take a travel around the different towns too to make sure theres no npc left with requests, there will probably be at least 1 after you clear all your current optional requests (if you still have some)
grinding lands is really boring but luckily there are event quests for the monsters you unlock in them, so you dont need to max out the levels on all the regions, only enough to get the MR cap unlock quests. everything else is unlocked once you hit MR100, actually i think even less than that, the highest rank quests are only the AT elder dragons and ruiner nergi. so that just depends on how long you want to spend grinding your rank up lol
the augment mats from the grinding lands arent super important, they are there to just get the last 1% of power out of your weapons, i feel like its one of the last things you should do, getting actual new equipment (from safi or otherwise) would be more useful first. you get far less normal monster mats from GL so its not good for general material grind
alatreon mission unlocks fatalis after, which is 'the end' so to speak, so you can leave it very last if you want, it will definitely be one of the hardest fights you ever do. alatreon himself is not that bad though, the tempered frostfang event quest gives equipment more than strong enough to deal with him
- Do all event include High Rank event
- Raise MR/HR to 100
- Try other weapon to get a new feels of the game
- Responding to SOS of lower rank SOS (particularly those who still stuck with defender or whatever weapons they still stuck with from base game)
- Try siege
- ...oh idk, craft EVERY weapon? I heard there's this hunter who craft gunlances...
Or grind for layer outfit material on guiding land or something.
Alatreon, eh? You may need a good Ice/Fire weapon before you jump in. Heck, you may come back and forth here asking what to do against Alatreon given its gimmick can be quite confusing to some. My advice? If that thing can one shot you with any attack, don't even think about it, come back later with proper gear. And by luck, proper knowledge how that woodpecker dragon behave.
Safi? Well you can try solo it yourself but only if you had nothing to do as this thing take a lot of beating to kill. It is better if you join crowded lobby, told them you do Safi siege, initiate the siege and wait for other to join. Idk if you familiar with siege or not; one thing to note is, siege can only be joined by player who is on the lobby only, meaning you can't SOS flare for help. That's why you have to look for crowded lobby as it has more chance for people to flock into the siege with you.
