How do you see that you're dealing elemental damage?
Truly,

over the last few days I tested, whether I'm doing elemental damage, but I don't see any elemental effects on monsters.

I hunted in a 3P-party a Barioth with a Kjarr-Fire Bow with 590 Fire and Crit Element and that mission took 30 mins. and I had a Dual Blader and a Hammer user within the team.

Honestly? I don't see any elemental effect or -damage on monsters!

-----

I mainly play GS and there it doesn't matter. I mainly use lightbreak - which is why it might be a bug, cause... Slime-Explosions count in MHW as status effect and require the "Crit Status"-Skill instead of the "Crit Element"-Skill if you want to boost slime via critical hits. You can see that on Golden Rathian Armor: that grants "Crit Status".

So? Is elemental damage bugged on some accounts?

It shouldn't be bugged. When a shot hits the monster you should see some particle effects based on the element you're currently using. It is more noticeable on fully charged shots. Like in this video at 0:52 https://youtu.be/m7vyTSopJao?t=52

If you don't see the effects, maybe something is turned off in your settings?

effects tend to be visable, the damage numbers have different collors (so far, damage effects are resisted when numbers are blue i think, unsure about bonus damage, probably reddy orange?

2009 called to inform you that this is a standard Youtube Shortlink.
There is no visual clue for elemental damage.
OIf your damage numbers are are orange, it means that your hits are effective - this includes the element of your weapon.

the big charged blade hit changes it's explosion but other than that it's not too noticable. water makes kinda a splashing noise.
