Cephalopod monsters have been in the series before, but they were classified as elder dragons. This is the first time we've seen one since Generations and is possibly a new and unique monster type instead of being just another elder

I did not know nakarkos was an elder dragon! I was more referring to the fact that it's been so long since we've gotten a new cephalopod, and we only have 1 (that I know of) (2 if you count yama tsukami, but I don't)
