In MHW, [hold RT -> wait -> Y] is a GP.
I think he mixed it up with MH4U/4G where [hold RT -> wait -> Y] has a different animation from [RT + Y].

Someone else confirmed this difference between MHW and MH4U 6 years ago:
https://old.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunterWorld/comments/80ix5m/dont_let_anyone_tell_you_that_guard_points_on_the/duwnsvk/#:~:text=impossible%20in%20MH4U
I still lead with the attack input as a matter of habit because of MH4U.
Offensive Guard activates from hits in the initial portion of GP, for cases like Roundslash.
Morphing back extends the window with the new one.
I still have to give a proper go through to check/confirm the differences - particularly the release build.
From what I have seen so far, Guardpoints are missing out because Wilds is pushing Perfect Block instead.
Guardpoints should be (but aren't) eligible for Perfect Block just like Offensive Guard in World...
