“Steam Deck Verified”
Has anyone actually tested the new performance specs of this update? Currently running 1152 x 720, 10-12W, 40 FPS/Refresh Rate which hardly seems verified to me… I’ve read that it’s only cause they added automatic keyboard when using certain menus but I know they also ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with the hired texture pack meaning they might’ve actually done something regarding performance

and which results been before patch? Check ingame settings, some of those are very demandable for hardware.

those were my settings before patch, idk what you mean by results but as stated before best you can get without nuking your battery is 40 fps with most graphics on low or off (depending on setting). Now that they're saying it's steam deck verified and they destroyed the hi res texture pack, I would assume they did something to optimize the game for deck or at least something worth ruining the 3 years of mods after their "final" update

My guess is they are planning an event quest to announce World 2 and they needed the game to have a modern pipeline to implement it.

You have a deck yet you dont even know the settings for verified? , The minimum to be verified is 720p/30 fps loam That means if it hits 30 FPS and doesn't struggle it doesn't matter its green check marked Reason it got green'd now is probably adding its own steam keyboard instead of having to force users to Steam button + X

I don't know how you don't understand what verified means for deck games. But I can promise you that it plays 45-60fps with ease on medium / high settings with full aspect ratio and resolution. So if you're getting that bad of frames and performance, I think you did something very, very wrong with your Steam Deck, or you have it on some cheap quality micro SD and it's bogging it down.

Turn off volumetric fog and you'll be around 40-60 fps at low 720p. Best performance is locking the framerate cap to 50 fps for a smooth experience. Assuming DX12 is being used.

Did you manage to make the game run in 16:10?

It never ran well even on PC, I wouldn't expect much. One of the worst PC releases around.

I've been playing on the deck even before the steam deck announcement and running pretty stable

I also was playing before the patch on the deck, and had no real issues bar the teeny tiny icons and text - which seems to be exactly the same after the patch. There's probably settings to increase this, but I've kinda got used to it anyway.

Capped at 40fps with stock settings, it still seems to sit around 2 hours battery life - I'm sure this can be extended by fiddling, but I usually only do short bursts so it works for me.

I think Rise is the better-for-handheld MH, purely as it was built that way, but World is just so much more immersive to me - well chuffed I can play both on this thing :D

i set it to 30. ran through safi a few times just fine. 30 is fine for a handheld. can get more but i cranked the settings up. would recommend turning aa completely off too so your character doesnt look like its slathered in vaseline.

World runs pretty bad, but there are so many games that came to PC that ran like ♥♥♥♥ in a way far worse than World did.
Hell, look at what games are $70 on release and you'll find nearly every single game with worse performance on PC.
