Having underwhelming equipment forced you into certain playstyles or to outgrind the time issue.
But what if you dont want to grind and dont enjoy the playstyle thats forced upon you, then you just put the game aside and play something else, possibly adding a deserved negative review.
The will to adapt to something is not a positive trait by itself.
Lack of challenge literally everywhere
God of War nobody talks about its difficulty, it is too easy, created for the average casual consumer who can't do more than pushing a single button
What happened to games like gothic with unique combat systems, where you needed rythm feeling to swing your sword effectively? The mechanic was also ruined in its sequals
yep they failed couldn't sell enough copies
good old star wars games once upon time had good sword fighting mechanic vs human enemies but nothing good against big beast like rancor etc
did skyrim had a good fighting mechinic, not really?
good old die by the sword got its revival in vr arena games or these medieval sims like kingdom come deliverance or for honor, but it is always only good sword fight against human enemies
mh series also needed 15 years to peak at mhw, just look at the older games with lack of cool combos and over the years more complexity was added to each weapon playstyle
I personally compare this game to God Eater even though its rather farcry by miles now, back then that game was the alternative in case you don't like MH difficult spike. I don't know where comparing MH to Souls game even coming from tbh. People are just that desperate to make point I guess.
The reason for the toxic community are speedruns, cheats, heavy modding and the false expectations they created. People demand from others to be top notch players, and anything outside the meta is ridiculed and looked down upon. While the Meta isn't even always right, it does not matter to these people.
These false expectations are also created by sites like "How long to Beat", which for instance states that one can 100% F-Zero X in 14 hours. In reality it would take a very skilled player at least 60 hours to 100% if he was lucky to understand everything right away. Realistically we are talking about 100+ hours of play time, playing the game blindly, if ever, because some things are as hard as beating a Fatalis.
Even with knowledge 14 hours to 100% F-Zero X is a lie. Some friends of mine tried to beat my records (who are needed for 100% completion) for two weeks and couldn't do so, but this site says one can get everything in 11 hours if one rushes it!
Such liars, are the same people who talk down to others.
still i dont got it?
another art-style look like old day RPG idk? anyway people love changes instead of doing same work ll all years
beside i think the old day dont have internet so most devs just have local-taste.
now days evryone can see all world-wide work and evryone inspire by other style.
its like saying anime game == japanese devs
i just mind my own business and tell rude/pedantic people to @#$% off. try it sometime.

Pre-Iceborne, World was without a doubt the easiest Monster Hunter game I've ever played. It's the epitome of casual and that's okay. More players is better. Ignore the WORLD elitists foaming at the mouth to defend their Baby's First Monster Hunter. The games are for everyone. Those of us who are actual fans, are very welcoming.
