kulve has some niche with kjarr weapons in element builds and safi too for same guns like the aquashot
Kulve for elemental weapons (for hunting ala) and meme status
Fatalis for pretty much everything else but lbg (cause it has some really low dmg compared to other fatalis weapons)
Fatalis is for the rest
Tharoth weapons are niche at best.
But with the introduction of Velkana Gamma pieces , some safi weapons entering dps meta again .
Notable example is safi Aqua bow vs Kjarr bow water .
If you awaken safi Aqua bow with Velkana essence + elemental awakens and use 4 Fatalis + Velk gamma legs . This can outdamage Kjarr bow water setups due to the fact the Kjarr bow water lack power coating meanwhile Aqua bow getting even more power coating from Fatalis’s True Spare Shot . If you bring Nitroshroom + empty phials to craft more power coating during the hunt , 90% of the monsters in this game didn’t survive ~80-90 power coatings in solo assuming you have good set , use correct weapon against correct monster matchups and shoot the tenderized weak spot .
And safi Aquashot LBG is still the best Sticky 3 gun . With Fatalis armor , you no longer need Nagacuga essence , so that you can replace with more attack awakening for more damage or recoil suppressor awakening which allow you to use barrel type on this weapon.
Thing about Kjarr weapon is that , not everything are the same stat like safi weapon . Some are damn good ( example Kjarr “ice” Charge Blade ) and some are outright crap ( example Kjarr “ice” long sword ) .
So if you are doing elemental weapons with min-max mentality, you should check Kjarr weapons first , if the stats are crap , you can replace safi weapon with Velk essence if your armor build include at least 1 Velk Gamma piece .
Other than that , safi weapons with Velk awakening + 3 Velk gamma pieces + 2 Fatalis is one of the best “Frostcraft” setups . Allow you to squeeze even more damage than usual sets in some weapons and some monster match ups .
These are example of monsters ( not all ) that you shouldn’t use elemental even if your weapon is elemental based ( like bow , DB )
- Zinogre
- Stygian Zinogre
- Ruiner Nergigante
- Fulgur Anja
- Blackveil Vaal ( you can still use dragon weapon if it’s head is broken )
- Velkana’s head
For normal Taroth weapons , the only thing that survived in Meta is “Taroth blitz support” which is rapid fire LBG normal 2 gun .
So in conclusion , Fatalis , Kulve and Safi all are useful in current meta . It’s all about right weapon and right set against right monster match ups . All you need is find out on your own and make different builds if you want to deal much damage as possible. If you are just causal hunting and lazy , just pick raw based weapon like LS , GS and use Fatalis weapon .
