This is all assuming the leak is legit.
I hope it stays exclusive on Switch cause I can't wait for a PC release when the Switch version comes out and I can't not ignore another Monster Hunter game on PC. Another problem would be starting a fresh character on PC version and grinding out everything again after doing the same thing on Switch. That's why I asked if it was possible for them add a feature to port character between the versions since the Hades Devs did it, when you have both versions of the game. Been an avid Monster Hunter fan since MH 3 ultimate but skipped MH Gen ultimate since I was already busy playing MHW. I can only take on 1 monster hunter game at a time!

It's a problem, and neither Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft, or developers want to deal with it if they don't have to.
First, it’s a pve game the worst that could happen is you insta kill the monster and then you just kick that player and block them and that is it.
Second, you could still make private lobbies.
Third, the switch was cracked on the first week after its release, it might not be as easy as hacking on pc, but it is still possible.
Also, everything's crackable. I'm not denying that. It's just that it's (alongside hacking) so much easier on PC, hence my previous point that ain't no one wanna deal with that crossplay garbage if they don't have to.
Enable crossplatform? Yes/No
Your entire argument is bypassed by one toggle in options menu. Cheating is not the reason to not do it. Or at least if it is, that just means developers are grade A stupid.
Cheating will always be an issue, and the only thing that companies can do to mitigate that is by making it more difficult for people to cheat and to make them think twice because of the consequences.
only time will tell if capcom wants more money or fears the cheating via savegame edit.
logical would be to allow cross-save because it would allow the Switch to release it's fullest potential, even Nintendo promotes cross-save on theirs website, although only for a few games, which are singleplayer or have a login service.
Saves are usually stored on the device itself so unless they are gonna allow players to save the game on a cloud server or something, it probably won't happen.
Capcom will have to be the one to fund and do this since Nintendo wouldn't really gain anything from doing it.
Capcom also doesn't really have a great reason to do it. If someone is gonna play the game, they will either buy it on Switch, on PC (if it really comes out) or both. The "both" crowd is not gonna be the bulk of sales so I don't think they will wanna spend money to implement this just for the crowd that plays it halfway on Switch and wants to continue on PC. As long as the game is bought on any platform, it is still a win for Capcom.
From MHW/Iceborne, there are also similar cases in past forum posts where in the end, the player just go and download a save file and edit it to whatever they want. So, for players who are willing to buy another copy on PC but yet not willing to play it but want to get to a point where they were on the other platforms, they are likely to be willing to resort to save files edits anyway so it can be solved from user end.
We'll just have to see where the save file goes when the Switch version is out. My guess is it will be on device and the Nintendo cloud only. If there's no Capcom cloud or something then the save file's unlikely to be portable to PC.
Now, whether the leak is legit is another story. As others have pointed out, it's not clear what kind of exclusivity Nintendo has and Rise was built for the Switch. Nintendo has now had about six-ish exclusive MH titles. They understand its value and I think it's too early to say it's 100% coming to PC.
Remember the Oroshi Kirin leaks for MHW?
Figured I should ask others what they think about the link as well. But this was the second time a leak from Capcom suggest MH Rise is coming to PC. Can't wait for the exclusivity for MH Rise to go on PC if its true and I don't want to grind out two characters on two versions. Oh well.
